To be fair on this one, synergy has an actual, real economic and financial definition that is precise and descriptive when properly used.
The problem is that everyone and their mother thought it was a cool word to use and made them sound smart, so now it's so widely used that it's meaningless most of the time.

Most of these terms have some valid use but they have just become so popularized/overused that they make me snicker a little. Or maybe it's that I spend half of my day in meetings instead of working

One cure for this ailment is to start or join a small business. Sure, it will take you a while to start making money, and you may have to buy your own health insurance and take out your own office trash, but you'll likely cease to sound like someone who's pissed that their UNC education has landed them as the Service Sales Marketing Manager for the Midwest.
