Let's discuss oral hygiene: Who here uses a WaterPik or something similar?

I floss daily and care a great deal about my teeth and yesterday my dentist recommended I grab one of these WaterPik's online or at Costco. Said that it feels "dentist clean" after every use and that I'll never need to floss again.

So my question is two-fold:

A. Is that true?

B. Do I have to get the fancy $75 brand name or are there some cheaper competitor brands you can recommend?

Amazon has a number of different makes and models, along with "user reviews..." You can get something for less than that.

Yeah, and I read through most of them.

I am very skeptical of fake reviews on Amazon now though.

If you're not already using a Sonicare toothbrush, start now.

You can also get an attachment for the water pick that will let you cleanse your sinuses. Works much better than the regular neti pot since you actually have some force behind it. A coworker swears by it.

I have heard good things about those.

Seems like it would feel good on the gums

Now this is intriguing!

I have terrible pollen allergies and use a neti pot a few weeks out of every year.

I'm not convinced it cleans between your teeth all that well, but I bought the $100 top end model and it absolutely blasts crap out of the corners that you can't otherwise get to.

I use one. I think it works great. Just find your setting and get after it. I hated flossing and this seems to be better.

Tried the WaterPik but could never get the same deep clean feel I get from flossing and my Phillips Sonic (also sold at Costco)

No idea about that thing, but I bought this after recommended by my dentist a few years ago, and it's awesome.

The last time I flossed was the last time I was at the dentist, which was probably 2 years ago. I can count the number of times I have flossed my own teeth on 2 hands.

I have one, but don’t really understand the point. I don’t feel like it replaces flossing.
