Married for 24 years.
Together for 27 years.
Now, divorced for over 3 years.

Never seen any men throw divorce parties but have seen a couple of women do it. Seems in poor taste. One ended with the drunk divorcee crying hysterically in a parking lot.

Oh divorce rates are going up. You can't expect the serial dater generation to settle down into a stable marriage.

It's a joke anyone expected otherwise.

"Yeah just date around before getting married!"

10 years later: "why am I so unsatisfied?"

What happened? It seems like after that long y'all would figure it out. Although my best friend's parents got divorced after 40+ years.

Divorce rates are down a pretty good margin the last two decades, and on top of that the chance of divorce drops sharply for people married at 25+ years of age, and drop again when they get married at 30+.

So basically, statistics say the opposite of your hypothesis.

Divorce among the population is down because marriage is down but divorce for married people is not, no?

Total divorces are down.

I remember hearing something one time that the divorce rate was overblown because it was being driven up by people who were on their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.. divorce and that the actual first time divorce rate was actually pretty low.

Breaking up is hard enough,
Divorce can make you grieve,
Well I sure hate to see her go,
But man I love to watch her leave.

My divorce was the best thing to ever happen for my kids. Staying and teaching them to suffer is selfish and stupid.

How much time do you have?

To be honest, I still have a lot of questions myself. To simplify, she said, “I’m just not happy anymore.”

I feel like my failed first marriage and divorce caused my children to be very careful before getting married. They all have great spouses and no red flags so far.
