You realize most babies are born with tails and the pants industry pays doctors to cut them off?

Our children retained their tails- I'm not bowing down to the Big Pants industry!

Probably better to do it as an infant and be done. There doesn’t seem to be anything aesthetic or clean about uncircumcised. But I guess it’s what one is used to.

Same could be said for the labia. In fact, some cultures do.

Aesthetic is obviously subjective, but I don't get the cleanliness argument. If you don't practice basic hygiene, doesn't any body part get dirty?

Anteater population on the rise

Not the burning cities, the assassinations, or the vanishing middle class, but the rise of the anteaters convinces me we are doomed as a country.

Makes sense...I'm only used to one.

barbaric practice

yeah….

soooi barbaric that both my infant boys had it done 12 hours after they were born, it took 15 minutes total, and they came back calm as they left. barbaric, sure.

Had my boy's done last week. Was not offered at the hospital, had to take him to a urology clinic.

Circumcision is healthier and massively reduces penile issues later in life

it reduces penile cancer in half from a .18% to .09%

the rest of the complications are purely cleaning and STDs. Which are all preventable

i did it for my son but the benefits of cutting are overstated

Didn't mean to offend- I should have chosen my words more carefully.

What's it matter? Sure. Or he can pay for it. Not a big deal either way.

My oldest was done in the hospital, by the time my youngest was born, they were done at the pediatrician’s office. According to those stats, my youngest didn’t have it done.

This is interesting b/c pediatricians aren't surgeons and I believe its considered a surgical procedure. At least thats what the Gyno told us.

your good Sally, i too was a bit aggressive in my response.

I honestly don’t care. I can see it from both sides. It’s something my family has always done for boys. So we didn’t hesitate either. And those who don’t for religious reasons, i support that wholeheartedly.

I did it for my boys because I am and tbh I don’t really know how to work the hardware if it’s not snipped. But I kind of regret it. Seems better to go au naturale.

May be different in different states. But in our case, both were done by a pediatrician, the oldest in the hospital before discharge, and sometime after he was born they started doing them at the pediatricians office in a follow up visit.
