A mom in a Subaru blew through a crowd in Oakland and drug a rioter for a block. No charges were filed. Don't know the legalities but it was publicized and filmed by a news crew.

I don't think it is legal but if you have a jury of your "peers" then I would imagine they would find you not guilty.
I would idle through the crowd, bc frick them.
