I do find it interesting that when the report was first published and IV lost those contracts and was then sued by Kenner; they had no intentions of going after Zurick and Fox. But because they kept digging and pursuing more investigations; now he wants to file the suit? As another poster pointed out, sounds like Zurik was getting a little too close to something Sydney did not want him to see.
As far has Zurik's sources, he used his connections to NOLA's city council for a lot of his investigations in NOLA, chances are he did something similar in Kenner

The problem with some "investigative" reporters is that they are rather clueless about the mechanics of things so jump to conclusions.
As far as Torres, I was never a fanboy. He's definitely played the grey area of the legal system and politically too. Uptown elite are the puppet masters of whichever mayor is in office and have been for a long time now. When their chosen puppet Bagneris didn't make the runoff several years ago, they jumped on the Latoya the Destroya train. Charbonnet wasn't playing their games (she had two Trump 2016 campaign staffers behind her)
