Nyaira Givens was a freshman at Aiken High School within Cincinnati Public Schools.
She was stabbed by another 13-year-old girl just after 9 p.m. Monday on Topridge Place.
Family members and witnesses said Givens got into a fight Monday night near where her family lived. During the fight, police say she was stabbed with a pocket knife.
Givens was taken to Children’s Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
On Tuesday morning, police charged another 13-year-old girl in the death of Givens. That girl is being held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center and is due in court Wednesday morning via Zoom.
She faces a murder charge.
Family members said Givens and the 13-year-old arrested were former friends, but they didn’t know what the fight was about.

The judge then ruled that the teen will be held until her next court date on May 3.
The teen’s mother who was in court told her daughter “We love you”, “You’re going to be okay” and “Stay strong”.

Yet I was told that knives aren't really that deadly. And that 99.9% of people will survive getting stabbed by a knife.
No I'm not making this up. I literally saw this yesterday on Twitter. I was so dumbfound, I didn't even bother responding. I just had to get off of the internet completely.
