Safe industries: bankruptcy law, debt reorganization, etc.

Oil ain’t firing no body with these prices. We got another couple of years before it crashes and we fire people again.

I've seen this all over the place too. Seen it a lot in the tech field which is weird to me. I think these companies just grew too quickly over the last few years and this whole "employee" market really screwed things up. The market has been so saturated with employees job-hopping that I think some of these damn companies were just creating positions to suck up the talent.

It’s coming if it hasn’t happened yet.

healthcare is in dire need of clinical people, i.e. nurses, radiology, lab, pharmacy, etc. However, the cost of hiring travel staff to fill the needs is crippling the healthcare industry across the nation. So expect to see some cuts, especially in the non clinical positions start soon. The labor cost right now just isn't sustainable.

I don’t think they are going to allow themselves to be placed into situations like they have previously where the markets became so unstable that it caused them all to almost lose everything. Slow and steady is the way forward. But we shall see.

If your company was in growth mode, be valuable or be worried.

I survived a 22% reduction in total staff at my company two weeks ago. Very scary. I’m saving every single extra dollar from here on out in case I’m not as lucky next time.

"please lord just give me one more boom, I'll do it right this time."

I've heard/seen this sentiment (both individual and company) too many times to believe differently. Eventually game theory will take over and somebody will try and capture as much market share as possible.

Manufacturing, accounting, plenty of others.

The layoffs are mostly happening in tech companies and companies full of useless majors.

And nurses and other high demand healthcare staff are gonna continue to flee to this until hospitals stop thinking this is just transitory and they just need to hold out, and instead pay staff employees better.

A recession won't stop people needing healthcare, boomers aren't getting any younger, burnout in the profession is already high and growing, and the education pipeline is already a mess and not producing enough new nurses in most cities.

- Someone that worked in the industry and has family working throughout the healthcare sector
