Mid size to larger defense firms in big cities aren’t charging $165/hr for car wrecks for the most part. Bigger cities means commerce that doesn’t exist in Louisiana. Specialty lines and complex carriers pay over $300/hour for volume work. It’s not big rig law baw money but it puts younger associates at $130k - $170k pretty quick.

I use someone I know and supposedly they give me a discount and charge $350 an hour. I have never had to use them for more than an hr at one time, but supposedly if I paid full price it would be $925 an hr. But they do a lot of divorces and I have never had to use them for that. And when I say I never had to use them for more than an hour at one time, it has always taken them about 15 mins, we talked for another 40 and if you complain about the price they will tell you if you don't like it then go back to school to become a lawyer.
Also, if I had to bet, that $925 probably fluctuates especially if the client isn't poor. But to answer your question I have no idea. I am sure.

$925/hour for divorce work is Gouging (capital G), imho
If you're like a NYC divorce attorney dealing with complex property situations with stocks, options, etc. and lots of assets? Maybe. That takes a level of intelligence above what's required for Louisiana divorce law.

I left private practice ten years ago. I was billing out around $500-600/hr in NY as an associate. However the firm was taking most of it
