Idk but many say that Lili in 2002 got slowed by whatever weather event was before it. Maybe one will slow the other?

And if not what the HELL did louisiana do to deserve this crap??

How much would Laura going over the same waters as Marco affect her ability to intensify?

Depends on how strong Marco gets. If it stays weaker, there won't be much upwelling to cool the waters. There's plenty enough warm water to support both at the moment.

Those ensembles make me wonder if we will see more of a shift east over the next few runs and they eventually come to a consensus somewhere closer to MS/AL border. That’s my hope, at least. At least the Euro doesn’t show a strong system, if it agreed with HWRF on landfall and intensity, I’d be running to the store.

I wonder that as well. The operational run has consistently been stronger than that of its ensembles. Don't have any historical context of whether thats common, but definitely interesting.

NHC needs a serious center and direction of movement update at the next advisory. It’s over the middle of Puerto Rico heading NW now. They had it way ahead of there 4 hours ago. It wouldn’t be good if Laura is able to skit Hispaniola and Cuba to the north and stay over water.

Thankfully no, cut them down a few years ago at least the ones that could reach my house. My shed might not fair too well but hell I have insurance. I do have a giant Live Oak in my backyard that if it fell right could hit the back of my house. But it is a hundred years old and survived Betsy, Katrina among others I think it will be ok.

Even with the 12z Euro tracks rainfall across S. Louisiana is generally in the 3 - 5" range.

Man that track would be devastating for south Louisiana from a tidal surge standpoint I would think.

Damn I just look at the runs today and what kind of frickery is this on Louisiana? Jesus frick.

I'd imagine another issue I don't know if you guys are talking about is power will be out longer than usual because the utility companies have to use guidelines for new safety procedure for the pandemic.

Just did my usual shopping at Rouses. Still plenty of supplies here and this is a central coastal parish.

Anyway, one of the cashiers a lane over was asking customers if they’ve seen the most recent radar and how bad they’re getting. Said they’re probably going to merge in the gulf and create a “perfect storm.” The customer said she didn’t think it would be much.

My question is - which one of the posters in here is a cashier at Rouses?

Would be minor given the relative size and forward speed of Marco. It’s not nothing, but wouldn’t hang my hat on it sparing anyone.

Despite my argumentative nature on here, I’m a pretty docile guy in real life. I’m not going to correct a stranger. That being said, it was all I could do not to tell him something. He’s going to check our hundreds of nervous people over the next few days and giving them complete horseshite guidance does no good.

What a dummy.

They’re going to run into each other and deflect in opposite directions like two tops spinning the same direction do when they hit each other.

Texas and the Gulf coast of Florida better be on alert.
