The weather channel is showing some stupid bee programme. You think they’d be all over this hurricane porn.

For Baton Rouge

Without a warning, you're outta control
The ground shakes and the oceans roll
This is the big one, there's no way to run

..S.O.S. in this situation means she's outta site
No need to panic I tell myself

f that run verified, it would be worse than Katrina hands down. But I don't even want to get into that argument
agreed- Even for NO area-worse winds and rain as it would be on the dirty side of a cat 4/5. And certainly for BR as it didn’t really get much out of Katrina in terms of wind and rain- this would track much the same as Gustav but be much stronger- of course in that far out HWRF scenario. That track will certainly change.

Euro is bringing Laura up the Mouth of the Mississippi.

It is keeping it weak. I'm not sure why. About to dig into that.

It is not picking up some feature. Maybe it is missing ocean temps or overestimating the impact of shear. It could also be the two systems wreaking havoc.

See, this is the kind of content we’d miss if there were two separate threads.

Don’t forget that if that verifies, we would see widespread gusts to 150mph near BR.

No argument to be made. Katrina missed us. If that run played, conditions would be much worse. For LA, it was the man made failures that did us in.

It's fast.

I'm going to need to really dig in but I don't see anything substantially different between it and the GFS for shear or dry air. It just gets to Louisiana in a hurry.

Spot on. Almost 12-15 hours faster than the HWRF and GFS. That forward speed limits its potential for sure.
