I hope they keep going and I didn’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but did anyone look at the map and see where the electricity powered up to and stopped?
The hospital.
The hospital.

Been a little while since I checked in.
How is the recovery going for all of y'all?

We were more fortunate than a lot of people so I have no reasons to complain. I have moderate roof damage. Water leaked into there and then onto my floor in my house which buckled. My patio no longer exists. Only had it for a few months. Other than that, now just waiting on estimates and adjuster, which will be here Friday.
Making it with a generator the best we can like everyone else. Glad you made it through

I'm looking at the outage map .. it looks like Memorial has power? Can that be for real?

Generators. It's been green since day one as has Prien Lake Mall. I assume their generators are running 24/7

I was affected by Laura and lost power for only one week.
I was very worried about the threat of mold and mildew inside the house, growing because of the humidity and no power to run an air conditioner. I did not have a generator.
What are ya'll's Laura experience concerning mold/mildew in the house because of loss of power and A/C?
It was not a problem for me because power was restored in one week.
Thanks.

Memorial’s power was indeed restored. My wife is an employee.

Well that's awesome ... hadn't checked with my brother in a few days and when I did I didn't ask about the hospital (he's employee there as well).
How are your things coming Amos?

I'm not familiar with details in that particular area, and it could be a generator, but all electric companies have priority service and reconnect protocols in place for critical facilities like hospitals, police, fire, etc.

I just got confirmation my insurance is paying for my evacuation up to $16K after a $1K deductible. Covering all of my food, fuel, and hotel. I know they denied a lot of people but I dropped SFP's name and they changed their tune.

I really did mention that, unlike most people that threaten a lawsuit, I did have an attorney on retainer. I do but they specialize in my industry only and aren't even in Louisiana. If need be, I was going to give them your information. I think that and using my kstoutconsruction.com email helped a lot. They avoided me for two weeks until I mentioned a lawyer, that I recorded all previous conversations, and the mandatory evacuation is still in effect as well as a few other things.

Finally back with my family for a few days. We’re looking for apartments in LCH now since power is being restored more quickly than anticipated.

FYI, the adjuster they send to you is contracted out through a 3rd party firm. He will just assess the damages he sees and sends that info in. The real decision is up to the desk adjuster that actually works for your insurance company after he reviews what the contracted adjuster sends in. Also, keep in mind that there is a very good chance you will need supplemental claims once the work starts and more damage that wasn't visible is found.
Good luck

Our field adjustor was nice and very laid back. Let us claim anything and everything we wanted to. Already know the desk adjustor won't be so kind, but we seem to be off to a positive start

LCMH inpatient services won’t be available until Monday.
ER open, but CT scans have to be sent to west cal cam (at least 2-3 days ago)
