One of the buildings in downtown Fort Worth was left boarded up for years after the tornado in ‘00. It didn’t get repaired until it sold.

We got two 100kw generators delivered Sunday and hooked up yesterday. We’re going to run a 50amp hookup for pop’s camper and then we’ll finally get to turn off these loud-arse little generators.

If your business is looking for big generators, check out MONTCO in New Iberia. They were the cheapest we found and were delivered in less than 24 hours. One month minimum is standard, their price was $3400/month. Delivery was $1600 but you can pick it up yourself (in San Antonio) if you have the means and want to save the cash.

LC officials better be talking with the Cap One building owner because he’s likely to not repair it given the market there. After Katrina, he didn’t spend much getting his properties there repaired...

who owns the building?

Hertz Investment Group owns it.

They won't ignore it and let it rot. It'll get fixed. They didn't purchase it until after Rita so you can't use how slowly it was repaired last time because it wasn't them.

Know someone in that area and it isn't on yet. The got a text about it being on in the next 3 days. I bet they're happy though as the were last for Rita to get power.

Ahh I figured that’s why I didn’t get my hopes up. Regardless, they’ve surpassed my expectations by a lot so I’m happy with whatever.

There is no "he" and a company the size of Hertz letting a property go back to their creditors would kill their business as they'd never obtain money for anything again.

Quit spreading disinformation and at least do some research before posting speculation.

These hotels in NOLA with evacuees that the state is paying for also require two state troopers and an ambulance 24/7 at each hotel. Acadiana Ambulance is racking up right now. NOLA PD has also shown up and helped a few times. Oh, they are getting 3 catered meals per day too. A ridiculous amount of money being poured into housing them because we can't put them in shelters due to Covid. Insane.

Red Cross is here too every day giving them assistance of some sort. Pure speculation but I'm guessing groceries and such.

BTW, they are destroying the hotels they're in so much that a hotel in Houston kicked them out.

Those of you being denied any assistance because you did it right and have insurance should be pissed off that those that game the system will yet again be taken care of.

I’m in LEESVILLE today cooking a pot of Jambalaya and white beans for the PD. Most of the town has power back.

Got my tractor alternator fixed. Not a single auto parts store in the entire state with one and nobody in LC who could rebuild it. My final effort should have been my first. I went by a country parts store I know. They didn't have the alternator but they hooked me up in typical Louisiana fashion. "Take hwy xxx and just past hwy xxx look for a 2 tone house on the right. Ask for Joe. I knocked on ole baws door and his wife sent me across the road where ole baw was in his shop. Fixed me right up.

Anyone hear anything about Entergy paying people to rent their 5th wheel campers for office space in LCH? Someone told me that was happening but I couldn't find anything searching.

Looking for advice. So I have a roofing company wanting to come by when the adjuster comes by. “To help me out.” I get that probably seems to them that it’s a shortcut to my signature for their business. How and why should I have him here or should I at all?

I haven’t signed shite nor do I plan to do so

Having a roofer on site helped me greatly in the past. The adjuster got doubled checked by the roofer and wrote up a proper report.

I got two more bids without the adjuster but went with the company that was there as they had the best bid.
