Looks like the Capital One Building in Lake Charles will meet the demolition button based on the damage in these photos.

Structural damage, or just broken glass?

SIAP does anyone have status on Orange, TX? Specifically near 87 south of I-10?

Anyone hear anything about Pecan Island to Creole? I saw the comment about 15’ in GC - that’s not good. About the cusps of what even the high camps can take in PI.

Also, it’s not like 9-12ft surge is something to turn your nose at. That is very high surge.
Yeah but it's not when you had 15-20' numbers scaring the shite out of people.
I understand the need for the highest reasonable case surge numbers. You want people to get out in case that worst case ends up happening. It probably verified somewhere to the east but I think that range is too tight.
Think about snow totals when forecasted. Typically it's the range is x to 2x. So 2 to 4 inches. 1 to 2 feet. With the imperfections of our surge modeling and it being such a function of track, maybe using the same method on surge forecasts would be a bit more helpful.
In this case, you'd take 15-20 and call it 10-20 instead. Would have verified for most of that area, and still had the big number to indicate the worst reasonable case.

Nothing concrete but we expect near complete destruction. I have close friends heading into the area soon.

Brett Adair is in Orange now.
Josh Morgerman left Orange and went to Sulphur for the eye last night. He left instruments at the hotel in Orange, too. I haven't had a chance to look for any info from him.

Damn boys we have 2 more systems we have to watch now heading to Puerto Rico in next few days.
Hey Mother Nature...send that shite elsewhere Louisiana should've met their quota for at least another decade.
It sucks because conditions still favor further western development, which lends to development near or in the Gulf. Pull for these two systems to die completely in the mid Atlantic.

quote:- yeah looks like broken glass and internal non- structural partition damage and of course a whole lot of water damage to drywall. office files, furnishings, etc. Of course a total mess but I’d be surprised if it was determined to be structurally damaged to the point of demo.
Structural damage, or just broken glass

We have one place that didn't make it and a family business without a store front. Really need to get in there and see.
