NOAA Satellites
@NOAASatellites
It's amazing how #satellite imagery has changed over the years! Compare this image of #Hurricane Betsy (taken by the TIROS VIII satellite) on Sept. 4, 1965 to an image of #HurricaneLaura prior to making landfall, (captured by @NOAA's #GOESEast) on Aug. 26, 2020.

That's great news! Glad to hear. I had similar close calls with Katrina and Gustav.

Mine on the outside is too per a neighbor. Need a new roof obviously. Hope the inside is the same with no significant leaks.
Did you see the building where Laguna's restaurant was on the lakefront? The old car dealership? It's destroyed beyond repair. I always thought that lot would be a great development for the lakefront. Looks like it will happen now but man Laguna's had some good food.

If you were watching last night Abrams spent all night trying to get Cantore to come over to her hotel. The weather-channel on air crew orgy may still be going on.
she was pissed she had to go inside then they would only let her go in the parking garage. Then got even more pissed when the eye didnt go over them

And victims need coverage and info. They can get their views without the self promotion in the middle of the casts. Just do your job and quit the self back patting. You’ll get more views.

JBE finished off the FF for not complying.
McNeese campus has significant damage too. Really all of Ryan st does. Must have been a bad band run up the whole street.

Yeah, just talked to some coworkers in Ferriday. Power out
ETA - power being out isn’t saying much down there but good bit of trees down in the area

I was pretty tired by then but I did hear it live. She said something like "you can all come over to our room, it's plenty big enough for all of you".
There's a joke in there somewhere.

Harahan has been on and off rain all morning. Nothing real heavy.
Glad for the posters who had minimal damage to the west of here.

You'll see this in stronger hurricanes and especially if they weren't weakening into landfall. There will be these rouge rotations within the eyewall. They aren't really tornados, but think of whirls within the main flow. They do damage above what the surroundings look like.

When she wasn't trying to get smashed by Cantore, she was getting smashed by debris.
I seent it.
