Awesome man, that’s great to hear.

The wind howl last night seemed very intense in Abbeville. Not much damage at all though. A downed tree here or there. Couple bent powerlines. Either Rita was far more damaging or our infrastructure has vastly improved.

Does Baton rouge have power does anyone know?
I'm next door in Denham and I have it. And I live on a shitty grid. Lost it last night for 3 hours with a light breeze only. Haven't heard of any outages in BR.

Judge any word on your place? And how’s your dad holding up?

Dude... it’s what $516 a year in an X zone for max coverage. Get the coverage, it’s not worth not having it
Yeah, that’s the first thing I’m doing when things settle down.
Surprisingly, it looks like I still have power too

Well, judging from reports in our neighborhood I didn’t flood! That was my biggest worry (no flood insurance). Anything else can be repaired.
My neighbor just texted. He had a friend go by and check his house. It's very encouraging. He is trying to get pics of my place for me now.

Lake Charles fly over
Thanks for that video. The motel 6 that is missing the roof (formerly Inn on the Bayou) was badly damaged by Rita too. I had the contract to redo the insulation in it because a friend of mine redid the sheetrock and subbed it to me.

I got a terrifying early wake up call for Hurricane Laura coverage this morning on ? @CBSThisMorning ?. But what I’ll lose sleep over is if this is happening in a “hurricane proof” hotel in Lake Charles, what’s out there in the dark below?

They have video on Facebook of a guy on 171 in North Lake Charles heading into Moss Bluff. It's very bad put passable from what I saw.
