Yeah I just saw some tweets re: gust of 135+ in LC. So maybe the sustained reports weren’t overstated at all.

Black guy on weather channel actually pointed at a mattress outside casino and said " this was not here before the storm" no shite.

Glass guy checking in. Everything looks to be as expected. The curtaiwall system is still in place and took the wind load without failure, which is pretty incredible. The glass broke out from debris. That building was built before the use of impact rated glass was required, though I'm not sure if it would even be required to be impact rated these days. I'd have to see the maps showing the zones for it.

You mean that mattresses aren’t usually incorporated into landscaping?

So everyone saying it wasn't as bad as predicted, the winds got to predicted levels, worst of the storm surge went east of LC, we don't know how bad it was at Rutherford beach and lacasine reserve. It was pretty much as predicted but eye wall came in slightly east of projection.
Btw most houses have roof damage, trees are worse than Rita.
Taxadermy shop in Westlake got destroyed and had people riding it out, they left and went to middle school. Building is flattened, same with hoar salon next to it.

It probably was live. When you see the today show at 7am here in Louisiana it’s tape delay an hour. They air live in New York at 7am eastern. So live interviews here were 6am still kinda dark
