What is the difference between and extreme wind warning and a hurricane warning? Lacks the surge threat I guess?
One includes storm surge and rain. The other is just for wind.

It's considered a 10 second wind IIRC. There are conversions for 10-s to 1 minute to 10 minutes.
Of course. fricking math.

Might be the best shot to get a max surge on a gauge here:

The backside of the eye wall is starting to close on Lake Charles and Galveston radar.

Anyone know how high off of the ground the Cameron camera is? Was curious if it would be submerged.

Yeah especially Galveston. That thing is nasty.

So far the most interesting thing on my Ring is that the tree frogs sound pissed about the wind.
The wind really adds a high degree of difficulty to bug catching for the tree frogs

63 gusting to 92 mph now near Cameron
Report is probably delayed in time so the camera feeeds are probably showing stronger winds

For those interested, water level at the Saltwater Barrier has been going down for the past 3 hours.

The guy said if it becomes submerged, the water level was over 9 feet.

Crestview has a really good drainage system. There are parts of South Lake Charles that are really really bad though.
Yea Crestview I don't think has ever flooded.

Remote camera in Cameron is barely holding on, it's getting real there.
Important to note that his cameras and in a pretty rugged waterproof box and strapped 10-15ft up a telephone pole. He's had some cams go through big time shite.
Uses Verizon network

I know where it is and have multiple friends that live on there.
You are gonna be very close to the storm surge. Won't get you but is gonna get almost everything south of you that isn't built up.
Yeah, we didn't flood during Rita.
