@TropicalTidbits

The recon plane's pass just now through #Laura's northern eyewall once again measured winds of ~155 mph, right on the cusp of Category 5 intensity. Central pressure is down ~1 mb since the previous pass, indicating no reversal of the intensification trend yet.

137 kt surface reported in the northern eyewall. If verified, #Laura is a category five. A grave situation is an understatement.

I thought the extrap earlier was 938.4hPa

It was but the VDM says 942 so I guess they adjusted it.

This one was 935.9 extrapolated so it may be 940 official??

Truthfully I think my brain has shut down all thoughts of what might happen out of survival instinct because I could easily go crazy doing that. We are in between DeQuincy and Ragley, not far off Hwy. 12. Only ones left on our road. It is eerily quiet. I'm glad to have this group to talk to. Hope everyone makes it through and the aftermath isn't horrible. I'm really hoping that things were implemented after Rita that will make this less difficult than 15 years ago.

My advice? Get an axe into the attic. She may need it.

I have been too busy to look, shameful that he would post that then.

I think we got a 1-2 mb drop, give or take from what I've seen.

133 unflagged. I think 135 kt/155 mph is supported.

Yeah not knocking you, you're just reposting it.

I mean, it's probably there or almost there, but to say "if it verifies" when it was flagged is a shady.

Pressure doesn't appear to have fallen on this last pass. That's the first bit of good news we've seen in like 48 hours.

I think Laura is 100 miles off shore. Water from here on in will be much more shallow. I’ praying that is the reason for the lack of pressure drop because it should not get any higher from here on in.

People see 5 and for some reason (I cannot explain) finally get the picture.
