Those cones mean nothing. They can move them. If a cone can move then it’s not even really a cone.

All for TV ratings.

Not even gonna show the CMC run.

CMC has been pretty consistent of back to back storms entering the gulf since Friday.

GFS and Euro have recently moved closer to the CMC scenario.

Those aren’t cones. They don’t create cones until it becomes at least a potential tropical cyclone. Those are areas of potential development.

Also, are you saying they can’t adjust their forecast based on changes in atmospheric conditions, modeling, etc.? They should just continue to roll with an old forecast, even if they know things have changed? The National Hurricane Center doesn’t have a TV channel, so they wouldn’t really be changing the cone “for TV ratings.”

NOLA’s pumps can barely handle an hour long downpour. Orleans Parish is so screwed if that track shifts even 40 miles west.

Levees won’t break but city would still flood just bc of S&WB/Destroya incompetence

Lots of uncertainty on where future 98L targets, but its got an ominous WNW trek pretty nailed down with ridging to its north at this point.

The Canadian Ensembles by in large take it on a Florida Strait passage which never bodes well for the Northern GOM:

The Euro Ensembles appear to target the same area:

Finally, the 06Z GFS has finally come to its senses on this system and wants to retain a very strong ridge forcing a Caribbean trek into the Southern GOM.

12Z Icon making things interesting with stout high pressure over the Eastern CONUS

952 mb... that equates to what... a cat 3?

obviously strength forecasting is still sketchy at best... and this far out is almost impossible
