This is strictly off of memory but didn't one of Harrah's boats end up in the parking lot south of I10 and most of the first floor of that hotel on the north side of I10 flood? Not sure about how high the water got though. I think I have the KPLC DVD somewhere

They should be leaning over for maximum exposure

Marco is moving at a perfect 270 degree bearing. Are they even tracking this anymore or “hey yeah it’s moving to the left”
Marco only gets the full advisories 4 & 10... for now
don't think that'll last too much longer though

Does anyone from LC remember how high the lake got by Lakeshore during Rita? I can't find any good images on search and I was trying to give my wife some context
I was at LSU at the time, but It got up and I believe over the interstate. What flooded many of the homes along the lake shore area was the canal backing up, I believe from trash or something. I know that house on Watkins that was for sale for 750k a couple months ago flooded from that. One of the really successful female realtors that lives St corner of barbe and lakeshore now, owned the house and fought the city over it.
FTR water was higher during IKE.

Yea the north side for wrecked, honestly don't think the south side was that bad, except along the canal. I think lots of broken windows though.
When I left today couple of the houses were already boarding up.

Water was higher for Ike. Went to a business off of South Ryan that had no water for Rita and several inches for Ike

I don’t think it was the south end of the lake that got the high water. It was the north side at the interstate. Destroyed Harrahs. That poor sailing club.
Hell, a boat is still sitting on the north side of the interstate in the marsh from Rita that you can see from the bridge

To be clear, if you’re not surrounded by water oaks and/or on the coast, your safety isn’t at much of a risk in LC as of now, but your comfort is highly endangered.
No coast for me, but one big water oak that I’m regretting not taking care of pretty big right now. That’s got me going to the folks house as of now.
Oh, and I also regret getting a new roof a couple of months ago after a hail storm. That really worked out great.

I am right by that canal.

I do not understand the insistence of the older generation on staying. Know multiple people who have parents/grand parents doing the same thing.
We had whole home generator at the house and I still left. No way I would chance this BS with 3 young kids
That's because you're soft.
Storms, no matter how dangerous, are pivotal moments in your life. Experiences to be remembered.

Stop. Everyone is different. If he feels his family is safer leaving, they should leave. If they feel OK, staying, they should stay. That’s a personal choice. His family can make memories on the road just as easily as they can being home.
The machismo crap is old. Grow up.

Yep, EURO believes in the stronger ridge.

The Euro is sticking to it's southern solution. The GFS ensembles have also shifted left of the operational run with the vast majority of members into Texas.

Soo the Euro is looking less like the outlier it might have appeared earlier?

Regardless of the landfall, the trajectory is still bad for SWLA

Yes, unfortunately.

A Galveston Island hit hasn't ever been off the table, even with most of the modeling running east of that.

Euro is generally reliable on intensity right?
None of them are super reliable on intensity but with the consistent HWRF 930s and the Euro bombing it in the last 24 hours, it's another very concerning signal.
