I know they're talking in a relative sense, but those 50 or so mile shifts 4 days out make quite a stir on these threads, and rightfully so.

Whoever it was should have at least credited Levi.
The person that wrote what I pasted did it in his own. He works for a meteorology software company that develops and sells the models we see today.

So which are you from slack — NI or delc?

Maybe now storms will stop making bad jokes and targeting Morgan City. What storm was it last year that had no chance at going into the Gulf when it made the north turn...I seem to think it was Dorian. Every model had it going over Bahamas except a single one had a magical track straight to Morgan City. It's like an inside joke with these computer models at this point.

That’s a east shift correct

I don't see how we can say Laura is "on land" by the looks of that loop.
Posted on 8/23/20 at 10:06 pm to VermilionTiger
How bad is Laura gonna get too before she makes landfall? Are they still thinking cat 2-3???
That last track would frick up most of south la.

I've spent a decent amount of time in New Iberia, but I don't have the haircut to prove it.

Marco is feeling the effect of strong southwesterly shear.
The center, as identified by an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft, is displaced to the southwest edge of the convective canopy.
That said, Marco has not quite fully decoupled yet and has moved well right of the previous forecast.
Data from the plane indicates that Marco has weakened; the highest flight-level winds were only 58 kt with unflagged SFMR winds just above 50 kt.
Marco's intensity has been lowered slightly to 60 kt, but this is probably generous.
Just glancing at it, looks like something my boy Free would write lol

By everything I can see... yes East shift
Posted on 8/23/20 at 10:07 pm to biohzrd
I think at this point everyone is pretty much expecting it to be a major one.
