Friend,
Weather used to be interesting to me. It still is in a poetic sense, but once the meteorologists began with the jargon about twenty years ago, I lost interest in their language and their predictions. They became to me computer model analyzers, who, in order to have purpose, felt the need to explain the computer’s whims. The computer did all the work, so what else were they left to do? This led to jargon. Like most fields, jargon mostly serves to obfuscate the truth that when it comes to nature we do not understand the systems at play. Sometimes they guess correctly. Sometimes not.
Whereas I once followed hurricane tracking for hours on end and even participated in similar jargon, I have put those things, like sports, behind me. A hurricane is coming? Okay. That’s good for OT traffic numbers. I’ll make sure we have plenty of water. stout mocked me for prepping for the Covid lockdown, but who has twenty pounds of parboiled rice and 40 gallons of bottled water at home, eliminating the need for trips to chaotic stores?
It is probably best to check the NHC graphs three times a day and focus on the good things. Today is the Lord’s Day and I will rejoice and worship. Too many have been lured by the mass media’s spell of fear, discord, and rumor of war and destruction this year. The OT has become susceptible to this lower form of news, as it seems only bad news gets a “sticky” here, thus perpetuating fear and trembling.
I will have no part in it any longer. I fear not because God is with us, and God will not forsake us. Perhaps we would all profit in every aspect of our lives if we devoted our attention to the God of love rather than the false gods of fear and insecurity. Should I lose all things or die in the Lord, what have I lost? Let us enjoy this day, give thanks, prepare for what might come, but live with joy, not fear.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

To me death is not a fearful thing, it's living that is treacherous.

Western track would be good for nola for the winds but not necessarily for the rain. Remember, a few months ago a tropical storm went directly over new orleans. It was MS and AL that got whacked with over a foot of rain. Get stuck in a western side feeder band and you can lose everything. Still need to prep even if the cone shifts away.

Friend, all is good. Many people here are just venting. Myself, I find there is some good info in some of the post.
I am suppose to be in Houston Thursday for 7am for a doctor's appointment. Very importance for me due to dealing with ALS. As it stands, that is not going to happen. Problem there, it's very hard to get another appointment any time soon.
As far as it's the Lords day, to me, every day is The Good Lord's Day.
I pray for you and all people to be safe from any harm.

LCH checking in. God dammit.
Can we get an updated map showing both tracks please?

SELA. Don’t think an eastern shift cant happen again.
06z Euro made landfall in Morgan City
This is most certainly due to Marco not making it further north instead of due west. Marcos presense on the TX coast slingshots Laura into LA
