I've been bringing mine to my work dumpster in Belle Chasse but I have shite in my can from BEFORE the storm. They didn't pick up the Saturday before either. Plus everyone had to empty out their fridge/freezers. My street smells like post-Katrina.

I wish I could find the picture of the garbage can in NOLA that had "I'm an offensive statue, please pick me up" written on it

No it isn't, because you've already paid them and they failed to do their fricking job. Now, they want you to throw the rotten weeks old garbage in the back of your Accord and haul it to the fricking dump because they can't do their damn jobs that you've already paid them to do.

She deleted the original Facebook post and Tweet and posted this instead.

No getting around it: The situation stinks?? The drop-off location is a temporary option to help alleviate some of the capacity problems. We’re grateful for your patience, & we understand & share your frustration! At its core, this is a capacity issue. There was a limited workforce for this sector before the storm, and Ida's impact only exacerbated the problem. We are looking at 3-5x the workload, with about 25% of the workforce. There's not a magic bullet for this problem, but we are working to put things right!

How is this a bad thing?

When I lived in rural GA, we didn't have trash service. Brought it to the dumps ourselves. Really wasn't that big of a deal. At least this say people can get rid of trash. I'd rather do that than have it piled up around my house..

Like many people have said, we are charged for this service They are not upholding their end of the bargain.
