You people should be honest. There aren’t enough trucks and people to man them so at least you have a choice and can get rid of your garbage if you don’t want to wait. Even Jefferson parish and lafourche and Livingston and other parishes are trying to hire for outside the area and there are no takers. Communities don’t have enough trucks and people nationwide. Your tax money has been high jacked by entities that provide either unnecessary services or no services at all. Government is too damn big and you get less and less services as the years go by. We need to go back to the 1950s way of doing things but with equality. Pride in work, less waste, community pride, a sense of right and wrong.

No one in this thread has mentioned what an absolute cluster the drop off process will be at the dump. It will make waiting in lines for gas look like a vacation. The same employees who aren’t picking up your trash are going to be passed that you’re dropping work in their laps. They’ll move slowly and bad attitudes will be had by all. People will wait hours only to be turned away because they’re throwing away a a fake decorative plant and the dump doesn’t take vegetative matter. People in line will start dumping their trash in the street and leaving. The dump will open late and close promptly at 5:00pm. They won’t verify residency so you’ll have people from outside the city dumping, too.
It can go no other way. When has anything gone successfully as planned in New Orleans?
