It's easier to spy on everyone if they're all on the same WiFi.

Makes sense: S&WB is basically inept and unable to do its job. Now onto something else that could further erode the infrastructure of the City. What could go wrong?

There's always going to be public works projects. As so, something like this seems to be worthwhile, as opposed to a lot of other useless shite politicians would rather be doing.

Agreed.

Makes sense. Now people can tweet while they are drowning from the floodwaters...probably cheaper than spending on drainage and fixing pumps.

Great idea, but this is a luxury you install after you finish building your house. NO still has a tarp over the roof from Katrina. Get your infrastructure and flooding in order then start moving in that direction.

Free WiFi doesn’t do much when your house and business is flooded. How about working drainage for all of New Orleans.

How dare you bring common sense into this discussion.

That is actually an awesome idea for a city that can afford it and run it correctly.

New Orleans would frick it up, but I guess still worth a shot.

No chance. Cox and AT&T will fight for their bottom line. Unless they get their cut from the city.

For the record the feds sent X amount of $$'s to each state and La is trying to figure out how to spend it. It has specific language that you need to spend it in an area that helps improve infrastructure due to Covid. There was an idea thrown out to use it to deploy statewide but targeted at rural areas.
