How terrible would that be

Depends on if the screen I'm watching from has the big titties being flashed in HD.

I think that's called r/gonewild

Just don't throw the really big beads at the screen, they might break it.

Rumor from an Endymion rider was that the City was asking if they wanted a "stand still" parade, where the floats dont move and the people walk past. I have no idea how that would logistically work.

Endymion said not a chance

On Mardi Gras day regardless of her ruling, the city should come out in mass (BYOL). Like, what can she do, have a cow?

There's a reason she's asking for people to send in their suggestions. She just wants people to think they are involved in the process but she's not going to look at them.
What she's really going to do is come out and say that none of the suggestions were feasible or could be agreed on so she is forced to cancel everything, when in reality she has already made up her mind that's what she's doing.

Sadly, not a rumor. It was one of the suggestions for a "different" Mardi Gras that the Mayor's MG advisory council came up with recently. Obviously, most krewes are saying no thanks to that suggestion.

I'll be standing in the neutral ground on THOT Sunday getting hammered. May even go out on Saturday and roll the trees on Napoleon (with biodegradable toilet paper of course).

I am willing to bet people will be out and about up strolling up and down St. Charles drinking and playing music that weekend.

It really chaps my arse that Destroya/City is so unprepared to make this announcement. Mardi Gras is the biggest thing the city does and you cancel parades through a FAQ page. If you are going to do this call a press conference announce it and then announce what plans if any you have going forward. I know I know I should expect competency from Destroya.

FYI, there's a recall LaToya Cantrell page on Facebook.

They're going after her just like JBE.

Yep. Not sure how they stop the walking groups.

And honestly the groups should easily be able to stay within whatever guidelines she wants to lay out.

The FQ will still be pretty packed as will under Claiborne and near Broad/Orleans.

that’s why there won’t be any parades. There’s just no way they can do it safely

Yes. I'm sure the lunatics who chase floats waving their babies around in hopes of pity beads will be very receptive to an organized Mardi Gras line.
