I hope I’m wrong but my money is on this continuing to be the case.

maybe but if they get her on wire fraud...thats the kill shot. They can go after her for a 20 year sentence and if any of the money was tied to any federally declared disaster fund or special program funds from the feds......they can pin 30 on her

Lying to a grand jury is a pretty very serious felony

Is her return on the same day she’s supposed to be in court not a dealbreaker?

I would think “Sorry, can’t make it to court, got a vacay” could be seen as pretty disrespectful, unless this is a proceeding that can just be handled by her attorney (which it may be, I don’t know)

max is 5 years, nothing compared to the wire fraud. They will put it to her like this

Do you want to die in prison? if the answer is no then you need to take this 5 year sentence.

precisely
did she commit wire fraud...possibly
did she intend to commit wire fraud...probably
does the evidence stand up to a jury trial...who knows

the answer to all above regarding vappie though is most certainly yes. cantrell signed his time sheets, but her lawyer can contend plausible deniability if hes any good. but she absolutely lied to the grand jury, and its within the realm of possibility that had she not done that, she may have not been indicted at all. as said, feds have a 90% conviction rate for a reason

i hate that POS bitch with all my heart but having a personal relationship with a coworker is not a federal offense. vappie is the one who defrauded the city. she'll take the plea on the false testimony and that will be that

Using who’s money?

You’re dumb if you don’t think she’ll try to use money from the taxpayers of the City of New Orleans.

Shouldn't be allowed because of the high likelihood the money she grifted from tax payers is funding the trip. She should be held on house arrest in the 9th Ward and bank accounts seized.

The New Orleans mayoral primary on October 11th.

I guess she will vote absentee.
