Watching Russia struggle to take a fraction of a satellite country, and its fans celebrating scoring field goals against a Div. II foe while turning the ball over repeatedly has been fairly hilarious.

My question would be as a person who has lived in the Southeastern United States my entire life what basis is there for me to have any allegiance to Ukraine?

You’ve lived all your life in the South? No way

I just read a report that the Russia’s 64th Separated Motorized Brigade, responsible for atrocities at Bucha, has been wiped out near Izium. I guess confirmation, if it will come, will come in the next 24 hours.

They're a self-sovereign country, notably a Democracy that wants to join EU and NATO, being invaded by a historical enemy to the USA
This isnt that hard

Alternatively
What basis is there for you to cheer Russian military advancement?

Answer the question. What should I be basing an allegiance to Ukraine on?

Because people I don't trust, mainly the mainstream media, is obviously trying to coerce me to not do so

You do you man. I’ve seen the Russian military up close in Syria. Pure, unadulterated scum. The highest form of white trash on the planet.

You realize this is just as lacking individualism as just trusting the media right?
What logical reason is there for America to cheer Russian military progress when they’ve been viewed as our equal or runner up for 75+ years?
You can find the MSM not worthy of trust (as I do) and you can find the popular support for Ukraine overdone in America (as I do) and not be a retard about it and cheer the Russians to give the media a middle finger. One can believe these things and also see the value in abject embarrassment of Russian and it’s exposure as a paper Tiger with nukes.

You may be right about that, I honestly can't say but I've no allegiance to Ukraine and could care less what Russia does to them.

I figure anyone that is an American and roots for Russia when they invade a sovereign country or any other time is a US hating POS. That's OK you do you brought to you by American freedoms.

The autopsies found flechettes from anti personal artillery rounds.
From the Guardian
The timing doesn’t work though.
I believe the Ukrainians tried to catch the Russians while they were retreating. But they were already gone, and instead, they caught the civilians who had emerged from their houses when the Russians pulled out.

I doubt any Russian military progress in Ukraine has any particular consequences to America at all. And this war is showing Russia is far from our equal militarily at all, which surprised me somewhat

Ukraine is one of the larger exporters of grain and wheat. The Russians will undoubtedly seize their mechanized farm equipment and as much grain as they can. More price surges to come.

The United States has never invaded a sovereign country?

I remember when "conservatives" were rightly indignant over the media mocking the Republican candidate for president because he said that Russia was our greatest geo-political rival.
Now "conservatives" cheer overt Russian aggression and relish in its military successes.
We live in interesting times.
