We currently have an RC 135 recon plane loitering around that part of the Black Sea.

The explosion followed by burning occurred on board the Russian frigate of project 11356P of the Burevestnik type.
According to Dumskaya, enemy aircraft are now circling over this area of the Black Sea, rescue ships have come out to help the ship from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

You right, and I seriously doubt either one of them could forward deploy any real horsepower for more than a couple of days
if that. literally Russia can not do it at all. China may be able to fly their gen 5s for a week but their pilots have a 1/3 of the cock pit time ours have and that is being generous. Even if they can field them, they cant fly them worth a shite or work the electronics worth a shite.

We better have some bad arse planes.
we do, we have the best and are ahead by half a century if not more.

It seems we are getting outclassed and out distanced by new Chinese missile’s
based on what? chinese propaganda?

They have ranges upwards of 300K
and the russian bear supposedly had the best before this war too. They had the hyper missles and the USA didnt right?
yea how is that working out? Russia is just killing it huh?
we are ahead in missle tech but not nearly as far ahead as we are with planes and naval vessels and other things. The reason for that is in many ways we have moved beyond R&D on missles and have moved on to other offensive weapons.
within a decade to 15 years max(may already be there) the Reagen star wars vision will be a reality. We will be able to target and shoot down any missle launched on earth.
and we will own the skys for next 50 years and continue to own the seas. He who owns the sea and sky owns the world.

Hopefully we are sandbagging about our air to air capabilities.
ya think? i mean we started work ont he f22 in 1981....when did you hear about it?
the b2 work started in the 70s yet never saw it until even after the gulf war. It was the source of numerous "Triangle shaped UFO" accounts in the 80s and 90s.
but we arent sand bagging, we just dont release the info until we have to.

Louisiana, because the main source of funding comes from the gas tax and ours desperately needs to be raised
ummm no it doesnt. we need to reduce spending on other items outside of education and infrastructure.
and much of the infrastructure needs to be allowed to be built with a PPP, similar to texas. Texas has the same gas tax rate as us yet has substantially better roads.....except in orange and beaumont...frick the interstate there. Why can texas do it but we cant?

TxDOT is responsible for the construction and maintenance of nearly 80,000 centerline miles of roadway. Primary funding comes from traditional sources such as gas tax revenues, vehicle registration fees, federal reimbursements and local participation. TxDOT has also received funding from non-traditional sources, such as bond proceeds and the federal stimulus programs.
Texas gas tax rate: $.20/gal
Louisiana gas tax rate: $.20/gal
$.20/gal is the 8th lowest tax rate in the country. Texas survives it because they have a HUGE number of citizens (volume pricing model).
LA vehicle registration fee: $20
Texas: $51
Louisiana's DOTD is criminally underfunded compared to her peers.

Supposed video of the ship burning
https://twitter.com/ArielJestJeden/status/1522577713336356868
Looking at this picture of the ship, it certainly looks like it could be it...notice the Radar array at the top compared to the video

We are getting way off track here on this subject, but how much advantage does Texas gain from getting a bigger share of offshore royalties from drilling? I know La politicians sold their souls decades ago and we have a smaller offshore royalty package

Would NASA pick up that fire?

Could be and the distance of the video looks right for a surveillance plane. Would have been pretty soon after the lick no other ships around.

I looked but couldn't find it on the NASA system

Great. Another bit of our tech that could end up anywhere

I checked Vessel Finder and there's a convergence of several research ships in the area. A Global Hawk drone is circling overhead. There is definitely something going on there.

It's a suicide drone, not some extremely complex piece of technology.
You can untwist your panties now.
