I know you edited, but infrastructure should be a focus. The problem is any "infrastructure" bill has very little to do with infrastructure, and much more to do with pork and stupid shite like DEI.
See: The last "infrastructure" bill, which had dick-all to do with infrastructure improvement.

Got to admit that the Makarov is/was a good looking ship, though. Very sleek.

Russian state agencies (from the post office to the tax inspectors) have started flooding online job portals with listings for “mobilization experts.
I'd love to go to work for Russia as a mobilization expert. They would need to pay me in bitcoin or something similar. I know people in transportation/logistics. I could totally give them advice above and beyond anyone living there. I do have a buddy whose family speaks Russian and one of the languages in Ukraine. We could make it happen. Granted my homeboys that were my neighbors might want to get involved. They went into the Marines and are now in cyber security with the DOD. It's a difficult conversation to have while a little stoned with the DoD asking about your neighbors for above top secret security clearance.
Those dudes went straight ghost. I'd had an interview with DoD before with a roommate but knew it was coming. For those other dudes it was totally different. Totally random and it seemed intelligence talked to everyone they encountered with.

So? Flight diverted to look for ship?
Posted on 5/5/22 at 9:40 pm to Jim Rockford
Forte 11 & 12 have been in the air on and off for most of the "special military operation". But I suspect it's an ominous sign to Russia that naval movements are being so closely monitored. We also have a lot of tankers flying along the border of Ukraine especially in Romania and Poland. We don't know how many fighter jets are also loitering there.

There is currently an unsubstantiated rumor that the frigate "Admiral Makarov" was hit.
Huge if true. Probably another cigarette butt.

The only exception to that would be the 5th gen fighters china and russia have.
You right, and I seriously doubt either one of them could forward deploy any real horsepower for more than a couple of days.

We went from the Olympics and arguing over a traitor (who is being given a pass by the US elite) to not even taking notice at the atrocities still happening in Western China.

And if so, I’d love for them to send you to the front lines.

Every time infrastructure bills come up, it always gets voted down by the voters in Louisiana, because the main source of funding comes from the gas tax and ours desperately needs to be raised. A Plan brought forth by a Republican Senator in Louisiana was put to a vote, and he even cut the Tax hike by half to appease everyone in the Legislature to get it on the ballot. It would have raised the gas tax by 7 cents.
Voted down. This website derided it from the highest pulpits they could find, and angrily attacked anyone who tried to explain to them why it was a good bill and should be considered. Those same opponents to the Infrastructure plan (which was put forth by a REpublican, mind you) are to this day on this same website constantly complaining about how terrible our infrastructure is.
Trump had the best infrastructure platform of any modern President since Eisenhower, but it had no shot of ever getting passed because it would infuriate the Republican base. It required a massive gas tax hike. Around 15 cents a gallon.
That tax hike is required, and should be passed to fund what is essentially a complete overhaul of our infrastructure because we have ignored it to the point of no longer being able to maintain anymore.

They should be careful. Otherwise, these guys might end up investigating their murders.

Nobody has taken notice of those atrocities. It's the Killing Fields all over again. (After watching the film with my dad about ten or so years ago, I asked him how that was allowed to happen in the 70's without anyone trying to interfere. He told me that the world collectively said "It's not my problem.")
I think Eddie Izzard put it best:
quote:
Pol Pot killed 2 million of his own country men. He received house arrest. Died in the comfort of his own home, having everything provided for him. Never had to leave the house.
Kill one man, and we put you in prison for life. Or kill you. Kill ten...we are intrigued. There may even be a film of the week about you. Kill a million? It's like we don't know how to process a number that big. We're almost congratulatory at that point.
You killed 2 million people? Wow. You must get up very early in the morning.
But we're ok with it as long as it's your people. Stalin killed 12 million of his countrymen. Well done to you sir.
Mao killed 60 million of his countrymen. So very impressive good sir.
Hitler killed 6 million people in neighboring countries. Oh...you silly man. We're not going to put up with that...for more than 6-8 months.

Ukrainian Media Confirming Vessel on Fire
quote:
What caused the abnormal situation among the occupiers, as well as which of the three frigates of this type, available in the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, was damaged, is not yet clear. It should be noted that information about the explosion on the ship appeared in social networks last night. Today we have received confirmation that such an incident really happened. The circumstances of the next failure of the Russian fleet are being clarified. UPDATED AT 12:04. According to preliminary information, the ship was hit by the Ukrainian Neptune PKR. UPDATED AT 13:08. The satellite recorded a fire on a ship near Snake Island.

Getting more confirmation....
A maritime ship tracker showed a Russian rescue ship identified as SPK-46150 en route to the location following a late Thursday night dispatch. An aviation tracker website showed a US Air Force Global Hawk long-range reconnaissance drone over the location at 0500 Friday morning.

From the Forbes link below. In depth article on Russia's Black Sea fleet. Highly recommend.
Commissioned in 2017, Admiral Makarov is the third, last and most modern vessel in her class. All three of the Admiral Grigorovich-class frigates belong to the Black Sea Fleet. Armed with 24 Buk medium-range surface-to-air missiles and eight Kalibr cruise missiles, all in vertical cells, the frigates can escort other vessels and also attack targets on land.
