I think the two statements aren’t intrinsically linked, at least not in the tweet.
Yes, the west has let outside and inside forces emasculate and weaken us as a nation, which further projects weakness abroad.
That still doesn’t mean we need to be sending American boys to die in what is, at least for now, a regional conflict.
But who knows what is about to happen. Either way our military isn’t what it once was. Maybe technology will be the game decider. I wonder how much classified tech they have we don’t know about.

Japan could have a working nuclear weapon in about two weeks time. They essentially would just have to assemble the parts.

You can’t decipher the logic of a madman. Look at the stupid shite Hitler did after getting so much power and successfully destroying Europe that ended up losing the war for him.
It was also monumentally stupid for Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor when we weren’t in the war but yet they did it.
