Vladimir Putin may soon undergo surgery linked to cancer, according to a new claim being reported by the Mirror. His hardline security council security secretary Nikolai Patrushev - a former KGB counterintelligence officer has allegedly been secretly nominated to take 'control' of Russia while he is incapacitated.
Patrushev, 70, is the man who convinced Putin that Kyiv was awash with neo-Nazis and is seen as a key architect of the Ukrainian war strategy. The extraordinary unconfirmed claims come from General SVR Telegram channel, which first raised issues of Putin’s health - including abdominal cancer and Parkinson's - some 18 months ago.
They come amid speculation that Putin will announce all-out war in Ukraine, and order mass mobilisation of military-age men. Such a move would be seen as high-risk since many may refuse to fight.
Read more:
It is suggested Putin, 69, has already delayed surgery, which is now unlikely to take place before he presides over the grandiose Red Square 9 May Victory Day commemoration of the defeat of Hitler. The surgery had been scheduled for the second half of April but was delayed, it was claimed.
"Putin was recommended to undergo surgery, the date of which is being discussed and agreed,” said a report from the outlet which claims to be privy to insider Kremlin information. “There seems to be no particular urgency, but it cannot be delayed either.”
It went on: “The Russian President Vladimir Putin has oncology, and the latest problems identified during [his latest] examination are associated with this disease.”
The Kremlin has always strongly denied Putin has medical problems and portrays him in robust health, even during several mysterious absences in recent years.

Ordinary Russians are aware that things are going poorly. That Ukraines “liberation” is taking far too long, that infrastructure in Russia is vulnerable to industrial accidents (29 at last count) caused by smoking. They are aware that the rhetoric has been ratcheting up and that funerals are becoming commonplace especially among the highest ranking officers. The name Afghanistan is starting to be mentioned amongst the elite and it’s filtering down to families that experienced the Afghanistan war first hand ie everyone. There is an understanding that Russias trapped by its own rhetoric. The special military operation has no timeline just like Iraq and our version of Afghanistan, but this talk of nuclear weapons is complete and utter nonsense, any sort of Russian forces withdrawal would be accompanied by a number of communications that would involve clearly explaining consequences which in the very recent past have been described as “exponential” to Russia. So I’m informed that the next while will be about attrition which favors the Ukrainians. Putins health isn’t being ignored either. I’m a little confused about the last mention of word about the war filtering back to Russia, the word used could be translated as “free for all” but what’s getting back to Russian families is word that the Russian average soldier is undisciplined, unsupervised, poorly outfitted and fed, nobody has clear directions ie command and control has broken down. So there’s a lot of nudge nudge wink wink when it comes to extracurriculars. Drunkenness is commonplace ordinary soldiers know that their comrades are committing rapes and torture, in some cases RU soldiers are fragging other RU soldiers if the rapes involve children…this is confirmed in intercepts where RU soldiers are speaking about extrajudicial measures being taken by low ranking soldiers because command staff are dead. I remember reading UN reports on Screbenica and similar accounts of rough justice being meted out by soldiers on their own. Speaking of Justice Russian courts taking a real stand on corruption in the military apparently with trials of Putin appointees ongoing lol we are fast approaching the 100k mark in KWM around 92k at this point. Again Russia won’t include Wagner group folks but still 12-15k killed each month is, even to Putin no go territory.

What would stop Ukrainian forces from chasing the RU soldiers back over the border if they did retreat? They seem kinda PO'd

Yeah, it’s a state news agency. It reliably provides state sanctioned news.

Did you ever offer an explanation to your reference of .2 .47 from a week or so ago? You hinted there was some importance to it.

Belgorod Oblast governor acknowledged a Russian military facility fire. Rob Lee calling it a warehouse. Russian media quoted locals hearing an explosion.

To be clear, my question was in no way intended to instigate political reactions one way or the other. I want that bullshite out of here and everywhere else.

His days are numbered. I saw him do the sign of the cross a few days ago. He can try that when he meets St Peter at the gates.

It's May 1st and nothing much has changed on it: The sham referendum hasn't materialized yet , but Russia is attempting to convert the city to Rubles, replaced elected government officials, shut down internet & mobile connections.

When are they going to contest Kherson? Any military developments about the City / Region?

NY Times article about fires in Russia
quote:
These and other similar attacks in Russia have been some of the most intriguing, and opaque, military developments in the last month of the war. If carried out by Ukraine, they represent acts of once nearly unimaginable audacity; one of them prompted the first air raid siren on Russian soil since World War II.
quote:
The strikes come in two forms: the clear military attack with low-flying helicopters near the border, and sabotage deeper inside Russia.
Russian and Ukrainian media reports have attributed a dozen or so blazes to strikes or sabotage. In addition to the helicopter strike there have been at least three other fires at military sites that seem suspicious, and which military analysts have said were very likely set intentionally.

So, no sources/accountability? Got it.
I’ll admit, you duped me for a few weeks, and probably a few others, oh well.
RA’d for wasting everyone’s time. Have a pleasant Sunday, oh mighty oracle of the OT.

@KyivIndependent · 7h ??Ukraine’s Intelligence: Russia continues to prepare Transnistria for war with Ukraine. According to the report, a local newspaper in the Russian-occupied part of Moldova will publish an article calling on Putin to involve the Transnistrian forces in Russia’s war on May 2.
quote:
@KyivIndependent Russia is also setting up mobilization points to recruit volunteers to fight in the Transnistrian army in an attempt “to legalize thousands of its troops who will carry out provocations from the territory of Transnistria,” Ukraine's intelligence reported.
I just wonder if the real reason for drawing them into the war would be to justify full scale mobilization in Russia after Transistria is destroyed in this next phase of the conflict?
