Allegedly the large russian convoy north east of Izyum has been attacked by Ukrainian forces. Given the sources I'd wait to see pictures/vids before deciding how severe the losses might have been. Could've been small irregular squads taking out one or two vehicles.
But it does demonstrate how vulnerable Russian forces are when they get canalized on the roads.

First of all, I was being facetious because dr90210 doesn’t merit serious responses. Do you seriously think he gives a frick about that dead guy? Second; he was some corrupt russian collaborator involved in treason against his country (allegedly), and didn’t die in combat. It’s like mocking someone in Vichy France. Third, why do we need to be veterans to hope russian troops, who are participating in all sorts of documented atrocities, are killed ?

Greenwald thinks we need to take our moral and policy cues from Saudi Arabia, apparently. The amount of sophistry he engages in to “get” the United States is truly breathtaking. It’s also worthwhile to point out that at least half the grey countries in that map voted to condemn Russia at the UN.

I’m seeing some very interesting numbers related to two Russian convoys struck over night. If you check my old posts I made mention of how some materials delivered would change calculations. There is a reason why Russian Soldiers aren’t waking up this morning. I’m also interested in Germany who isn’t part of the Eyes project are somehow the ones doing the cell phone radio intercepts.

Britain knows this topic well, after losing the destroyer Sheffield during the Falklands war to an Exocet missile that France sold to Argentina. 20 sailors were killed, 26 wounded. England did not retaliate against France, but then again the missile was supplied well before the war. I'd imagine that anti-ship missiles have improved a great deal since the Falklands and the British supplied missiles will keep the Russian ships well off the coast. Hopefully they will also keep the Russians from bringing in supplies by ship. One thing I did not know about the evacuation from the Sheffield:

Just listening to some interesting discussion about what happens if Russia uses a tactical nuke out of desperation. There was speculation that we may make the Russian Black Sea fleet disappear as a way to retaliate without going nuclear.

I was aware that the British ship was sunk by Argentina using a French anti-ship missile. Russia has pretty much assumed they would have their way with Ukraine in the East and eventually would take he whole of eastern Ukraine cutting them off from a sea port and the Black Sea. I also heard a retired US military type say the west needed to do everything possible short of participating to keep Russia from taking Odesa and cutting Ukraine off from the sea. To do so would severely hurt Ukraine as a complete country no longer being able to trade from the sea.
My guess is Britain in supplying these missiles will prevent this. I expect Russia to lose ships and marines if they try to take Odesa via amphibious assault.
I also read an article that stated Ukraine is essentially part of NATO now without NATO saying so. They are receiving NATO standard equipment from the west including 155mm heavy artillery. If Ukraine pulls this off, they will be the boss country of the world for at least a few months.

The supply line from Poland to Eastern Ukraine is long, and mud means the roads themselves have to remain in tact for the supply lines to work.
As of now it looks like Ukraine has enough air defenses left to prevent Russia from using regular bomber missions to supply roads and railways, with Russia still preferring to launch missiles from their own territory.
The MANPADS seem to be making a difference in preventing traditional air superiority, causing Russia to be a little more risk averse with their sorties.

The bigger convoys run from Poland , Latvia and Romania to the Dnieper with no issues. There is a good open source article how they then break down what is brought in to what the forward units need, smaller groups of private vehicles then take the specialized orders to the frontline units.
