We should have paused for Stalin to scare the shite out of Hirohito in China as he did, reinforced supplies in Europe and ran them all the way back to Moscow. If the world didn’t hide Russias atrocities in WWII the motivation could have been there.
Cut their supply lines from us, which is how they were able to keep fighting to begin with, and clearly they can’t adequately supply their own troops 75 years later in a neighboring country. Maybe this avoids Korea and Vietnam. Saves millions of lives in Eastern Europe under communist rule. No Russian problem today possibly.
