Putin doesn’t have time on his side. The deliveries that are continuing this evening that started 9-10 days ago have swung the momentum, again I’m not talking about the switchblade loitering drones that have already been used effectively yesterday and today to wipe out two 8-10 vehicle armoured convoys. End of April is the very quickest that Russia could think about another push and by then it will have been too late. The little morale boost in the last 24-36 hours is going to cost Russia dearly.
Thanks for your input to this thread. I find it fascinating.
What I’m curious about right now is the relative strength of the Ukraine army vs the Russian one. We all seem to realize that Russia can’t stop tripping over its own dick in this initial assault, but is there a chance they can regroup and get their shite together? And if so, how might Ukraine fair then?

I read all points of view before filtering anything. I am not bothered by assessing the validity of points on either side. At this point I want the US to provide most every kind of lethal aid to Ukraine that we can. Buried within that article is an assumption that Biden may be too risk averse to giving all the aid that we can.

And that's not an unfair assessment of Biden based on his past history.

He should be taken exactly as serious as SDV. He’s the same poster on the other side of the coin.

No, he's not. Not even remotely. SDV does nothing but shitpost. LSUcanFAN may be wrong in his assessments, but they are assessments and arguments. Not drive by shite posts. That is the only thing SDV has provided to this thread.

The problems we have seen over the last 5 weeks are fundamental, there is no way any of that gets fixed in the near term. Think decades.
I think Putin has 2 plays, cut a deal and declare victory at home, or plop down that garbage army of his in the territory he wants and hope the can play defense.

Even if true, I’ll take fake news war analysis over the BS you and others won’t stop polluting this thread with.
Just shut the frick up.

Ukraine’s army being made up of volunteers led by veterans who’ve seen combat in the Donbas continues to expand. They are motivated, becoming more battle tested by the day and by all accounts ready and willing to die to save their country. Their morale is high and after the news of the last 24 hours apparently ready to frick some Russian shite up. Oh and their equipment at their disposal has actually gone up 10-15% just based off confiscated Russian armour. Plus donations from NATO countries off book. Plus some other stuff being provided to them.

Fair enough. But he’s every bit as much of a homer as the people who are literally pro Putin. His posts have zero objectivity in them. He actively shite talks people who disagree with him and roots for their bannings. And if you ask him for a source he says he’s above that.
I don’t take him seriously because he’s just as big a propagandist as Russian media is.

It is a pure doctrine issue. And it's showing the overwhelming superiority of NATO doctrine over Russian. One Javelin at a time.

Yeah we were still using NBC when we I went in in '99.

Or go with chemical weapons, although I doubt the Russian Army’s ability to deploy them effectively.

Let's be honest. At this point I expect any type of CBRN response from Russia to frick Russia up harder than anyone else.

Russia has been humiliated. At this point no one has the balls to say it to Putin, he’s the naked emperor. Maybe they can sell that lie they are some great military power to a third world Mugabe type but the world knows now, China included.

In all honesty I doubt that they can manage even that. Any world leaders that ‘ally’ with them are just shithole countries run by dictators that see Russia as a more expedient way to line their own pockets.

As long as Putin keeps his army near Kyiv even if he’s not actively attacking Ukraine can’t move significant forces to the west or south without leaving Kyiv vulnerable IMO.
Do we have any idea of troops allocation over Ukraine on the Ukrainian side? Certainly seems like they’d be spread fairly wide given the maps and battles we’ve seen so I guess odds are it’s not wise to risk diverting any from Kyiv. Was just curious as it seems Russia has proven to not have really a stronger position than the Ukrainians so felt it worthy the question was posed in both directions.

NATO doctrine is absolutely superior. At the same time, NATO would take losses, maybe significant losses against mobile, well trained, well disciplined ATGM teams with good cover and concealment. Infantry would help, but there isn't enough infantry to cover every square meter of ground in front of and behind the lines. The armaments advantage may have swung to the defense for the time being, like it did at the outbreak of WWI.

I'm kind of curious what is going on in the cyberspace arena. My place of work/institution made a point to tell remind everyone of not clicking blind links and other stuff at the start of this war. Not that we should ever let our guard down. The HQ people are helping with humanitarian stuff through a couple of avenues and matching donations of up to 500 bucks or something but they encouraged giving hard goods, underwear, diapers, etc.
