The West would be wise to show financial support for Kazakhstan now.
That’s stupid.
Nothing that happens in Kazakhstan matters to us. It matters to Russia though.
You’re picking a fight we’d lose, because the Russians care more. And are much more powerful than us there.
So now we’ve lost a fight, and annoyed Moscow.
What’s the point? What do we get out out of it? What did we do beyond waste our time and money?

Regional governors are getting the blame for Putin's war and the effects of the sanctions, not Putin. These governors are looking at their options. We need to show them that they will get financial support if they move towards independance.

You want to break up Russia? And start a regional civil war?
That’s a terrible idea.
9.5 million people died the last time around. This would be worse.

quote:Absolutely. This is the only way to obtain regime change in Moscow. If there are breakaway republics, Putin is in no position to do anything about it now. Especially if the regional government has the backing of their populations. And they will. Remember, Moscow is not popular in any of the Federated States and the differences are deep and long standing.

This is a great idea.

Have we seen videos of these being used on the battlefield yet, or reports of them being used? I believe the first shipment was supposed to arrive a little over a week ago? Not sure how long it takes the soldiers to learn how to use them though, but I can’t imagine too long.
Im really fascinated, and terrified, by these “loitering munition” drones. The footage these things will produce will be quite something, I imagine.

Two main things I’m hearing. Ukrainians will retake crimea and there’s going to be “retribution” for 2014. Mariupol was 50/50 ethnic Russians/Ukrainian and it’s destruction has laid bare the lie that Russia cares about Russian people in Ukraine. Bellwether is Odessa which is prepared to essentially fight to the death against Russia despite being 35% ethnic Russians. Putin is almost to the point of understanding/paranoia that this war has not only been a disaster, but represents the end of his regime and Russian ambitions to reassemble the old USSR. He’s to the point where he actually wants to know how fricked things are getting. The question Im hearing is about China. My guys are saying China had done the calculations and figured by delaying this war by the two weeks of the Olympics it would “neuter” Russia militarily. I’m emphasizing “neuter” because it’s showing up in conversations three times from three different people. China has apparently made the difference, and putins acutely aware he’s been played. Turns out China has grown fond of reliable trading partners and Russia just isn’t worth the risk. China has been surprised at the ferocity of sanctions and the unity of the west against Putin. Chinese intelligence had also previously assessed Russias military capabilities as “severely diminished” as the result of massive corruption.. In the last 10 days materials have been delivered to the south and the east that will ensure a conventional victory for Ukraine. Three weeks from now the ground will firm up enough for Russia to try and restart this thing. I’m being told Russia will lose triple the amount in men and materials to this point in the war if Putin has the appetite to continue when former satellite countries start to implode and require immediate attention.

I have not seen any reports of them being used yet. I did see General Petraeus on TV yesterday and he said they will be a "game changer".

Not just yesterday. There will be more than necessary. The night vision aspect of these little beauties cant be emphasized enough. My guys say they are a devastating addition, the other side of the coin is the game changer though. Russias about to lose a shite ton of aircraft.

Intercepted Russian Communications show a Russian Army in dissaray. Putin's FSB (ex KGB) to send in Psychologists to try to find out how to change the minds of seperatist region citizenry. (?)

Russia’s Vladimir Putin is calling up another 134,500 conscripts even as more and more of his own soldiers appear to be turning on him losses in Ukraine. Even as Putin signed the decree on Thursday, Ukraine’s Security Service released an intercepted call said to capture a Russian soldier railing against the incompetence of his own army.
“Our brigade has totally s**t themselves. There are losses, many wounded,” he tells his wife. Asked if the losses are a result of someone screwing up, he offers a blunt response: “The whole army with us is stupid morons. It’s unclear why we are even here.” he says.
Another recording shared by Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, captures a man identified as a Russian soldier named Maksim asking his mother what is being shown on Russian television, and if there are reports “they’re saying they will change anything. Everything’s bad, almost no one among us is left. They said we will keep going until the very end, until everyone is killed.” he tells his mother.
Asked if his senior officer was still with the unit, he replies: “No, he dumped us yesterday. We’re all dead in the water if he left.”
The new recordings come just hours after Western officials said there was growing evidence of disarray and disillusionment among Russian troops, with Britain’s spy chief citing reports of troops “refusing to carry out orders, sabotaging their own equipment and even accidentally shooting down their own aircraft.”
SNIP
The Russian leader has still not made a final decision on what he’s going to do next, and plenty of those close to him are reportedly pressuring him to go full steam ahead with the onslaught against Ukraine.
But the presidential administration is said to be concerned about how “a possible truce with Ukraine will hit Putin’s [approval] ratings.”
“The citizens were riled up by propaganda. Suppose a decision is made to stop at the territory of the Donbas. What about the Nazis then? Are we no longer fighting them? This word has been hammered into people so much that I can’t imagine how one can stop in Donbas without losing approval ratings,” one source told Meduza.
Perhaps as part of a long game, the Kremlin has now reportedly begun implementing plans to send psychologists from the FSB into Kherson, a city in the south of Ukraine where residents continue to resist the Russian forces who took over after the Feb. 24 invasion.
“To implement a scenario for the creation of another pseudo-republic in the territory of the Kherson region, there is work underway by employees of the FSB, 652 groups of information and psychological operations and officers of the 12th Main Directorate of the [Russian] General Staff,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement Thursday.
Russian law enforcement officials, prosecutors, and judges are also said to be on their way to occupied territories in Ukraine, with reports of Russian police officers being asked to take “business trips” to parts of the Donbas in Ukraine’s east.

It’s not the switchblades. It’s the other part of the delivery. Although there will be aircraft on the ground lost to switchblades.

Look a few pages up in this thread. Naive much? And you keep projecting "trump worship" on people. I didn't even vote for him the first go around. But the results were obvious to anyone with half a brain that he was a good president. You feel morally superior to others ...hint you aren't. Pretty sad.
LSU777 "I talked about Trump in this thread, but no one else can". What a joke.
