You know why…..

The fact that they are leveling cities is not a good reflection on their performance. It shows they weren’t strong enough to take the cities

What’s the significance of diverting the water flow? To flood area to halt Russia advancements?

Looks like they diverted some of the Dnieper River into the Irpin River. Some before and after pics.
Damn the freaking Ukies keeping finding new tricks to screw up the Russian plans. That’s big because the Ukies destroyed the bridges across the Irpin during the first 48 hrs of the invasion. Russia had been using pontoon bridges to cross it. I am no engineer, but that much extra water is obviously causing the Irpin to flood. If Russia’s pontoon bridges wash away then I would hate to be one of the conscripts facing a pissed off a better trained enemy with your back to a swollen river.

In what war is having your major cities and major population centers completely destroyed "winning".

Every Eastern and Southern City in Ukraine is getting bombed out and destroyed. Mariupol is basically a crater.
But the Ukrainian flag is still flying there a month after the invasion started.

I suspect so. Looks like the bridge in the last picture was blown out. The Irpin River goes around the west side of Kiev a ways so if they can control bridge access it could make progress around it much more difficult.

It will be tough for Russia to hold a large part of Ukraine long term. It's too big. But they will level whatever they want and destroy Ukraine until they have had their fill. South Eastern and Eastern Ukraine boardering Russia will belong to Russia.

London, Warsaw, Athens, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Kyiv, Odessa, Sevastopol, Minsk, and Leningrad were all destroyed or captured in WW2 but the Allies won in the end.
Philadelphia and NYC were captured during the American Revolution and the Americans still won.
Jerusalem was captured by the Christian during the Crusades and the muslims still won in the end.
Plenty of other examples throughout history.

Right America and the allies got those back in WWII. No NATO = Russia eventually takes what it wants.

Why are there six upvotes on this meme? It’s basically advocating for WWIII which the vast majority of us here are clearly against.
I think you are failing to see the humor in the meme.

The only bridge over the Irpin that could handle the weight of modern military equipment was blown up on day two of the war. You have to remember that Ukraine had piss poor infrastructure and unsafe bridges before the war. I spent a month in that area of Ukraine back in 2019 and I cringed when ever I drove over a bridge. Some of the bridges over the Irpin had pot holes where you could see through the bridge and they just covered them up with plywood so you didn’t pop a tire. Another bridge had crudely been propped up with wooden railroad cross ties and cinder blocks.

Russia wants Kyiv. It hasn’t taken Kyiv. Russia wants Odessa but it’s forces are withdrawing from Mykolaiv which means they are moving away from Odessa. If Russia takes what it wants, then explain that to me. Go ahead Pravda, I’m listening.

I could be wrong, but I'll be that in fifty years they have better roads and bridges than Orleans parish.

Wait the war is over? I didn't know that.

Is this the fallback "Ha ha suckers we really just wanted all of Donetsk and Luhansk" plan?

No doubt one goal was to control the black Sea. That's all but wrapped up.

Ukraine has recaptured Markariv and Moscun. That cuts off the only road access to the northwestern Russian advance. Flooding the Irpin especially if it knocks out the Russian pontoon bridges also Ukraine to cut those troops off from their supplies without having to fight and secure the 28kms from Moschun to east bank of the Dnieper which Ukraine has always had control of.

The war isn’t over but momentum has switched over to the Ukies for now.
