To Upgrayed, this guy makes a good point too. I read an article after your initial question and the author suggested it's possible the Russians are using their presence as a psychological warfare bit more than anything. Who really knows though ?

Its the new AT4 knocking off turrets. The HEAT round went through some modifications a few years ago and its devastating. Makes sense since all the NATO partners have them in the tens of thousands.

Sorry for us unconventional means to try and get information from people on the ground to verify if the internet rumors are true.

That is the number for the first 25 days or so of combat. That is an average of 690 Russian soldiers dying in Ukraine per day. Could you imagine the shitestorm the American people and media would throw if we were losing 690 troops per day in a war?

But it would never happen in a conventional conflict like this b/c we have superior leadership that actually doesn't stay on the front lines or flanks, we have an NCO corps, superior training, but most importantly, we have superior air power to supplement and take pressure off of our ground forces

The U.S. had 58K soldiers killed in Vietnam over 12 years and that scarred the American psyche for decades.

Russia has less than half our population too, which makes it even worse. Looking at the pictures of Russian casualties Rob Lee puts up, they're almost exclusively from the hinterlands. Almost never from a big city like Moscow or St Petersburg. Presumably they have enough economic prospects so they don't have to volunteer, and are savvy or connected enough to avoid conscription.
BTW you remarked on Timmy on the other thread. Back during the Olympics he revealed himself to be very knowledgeable about ski racing and said that he had raced competitively at a young age. I didn't think much at the time how someone obviously raised in a northern climate would find his way to a southern board. But with his shilling for Putin and repeating Russian propaganda word for word, it makes me a little suspicious. Maybe some others like him over there too.

Even if the real number is something like 9800 like the old Russian report said, that’s still about 400 per day which is insane. I guess this is pretty on par with Russia. Just throw bodies at their opponents.

Look god knows our military has issues, but holy shite I dont think anyone expected the Russians to be this bad.
And now the Ukrainians are maneuvering and the Russians are sitting still so those number will go up.

I certainly didn’t and I’m on record as saying that I thought Russia would have this wrapped up in a month or so. I was wrong.
That being said I still don’t believe the casualty reports and I guarantee that Ukrainian forces are taking a hell of a beating too. Probably at least as high as Russia’s casualty count if not higher. Its not like Russia is using its bombers and missiles and tanks to only bomb orphanages and pregnant women.
