This assumes that every BTG is at 100% fighting strength, which has historically never been the case. Go back to Roman times and you find that while on paper a Legion had 5,000 men, by Julius Caesar’s time the actual number was more like 3,500. This number was widely considered to be an exaggeration. In the U.S., M-1 Abrams units in the 1980s aimed at 90% but sometimes sank as low as 54%.

So the actual number of armored vehicles in the field may be somewhat less than the theoretical number.
