As far as capturing a pilot... Anything could happen. Dood could be a deserter. His plane could have been damaged enough he had to eject or land in a field. Could be a crackhead that we paid to say those things.
We've seen other pilots captured by the Ukes in this war. We've seen it verified with video of the wreckage. We saw past pics that confirmed the pilot flew the jet that was shot down. We saw, if you really wanted to, photos and video of his dead co-pilot.
The Ukranians capturing a pilot isn't some huge news and it has happened multiple times in this war so far, be it jet or helicopter pilots.

Senior defense official clarifies it is only 75 percent of total Russian battalion tactical groups, not total military.

That middle strike close to the polish border has unsurprisingly backfired… this new assistance is likely a direct response to that.

One thing I’m curious is how Russian tank and armored vehicle losses has affected BTGs.
How Many Tanks Does Russia Have In Ukraine And How Many Has It Lost So Far?
How Many Tanks Does Russia Have In Ukraine And How Many Has It Lost So Far?
quote:
Before the invasion, the final estimates from official U.S. sources put the Russian forces at approximately 120 Battalion tactical Groups, or BTGs. A BTG is a Russian battlegroup able to operate independently, a self-contained combined arms force with tanks, infantry, artillery, air defense as well as its own logistics, maintenance and support facilities. The Russian army as a whole could generate perhaps 160 BTGs in total, so 120 – 75% of the complete force — is perhaps the largest expeditionary force that could be assembled, and this assessment has not been seriously challenged.
quote:
If all the BTGs were at full strength, then they would have a complement of 10,200 armored vehicles. There are some additional vehicles at higher command levels: artillery and air defense units plus a number of other units such as the irregular separatist forces. But this 10,200 represents the likely bulk of Russian armor.
This assumes that every BTG is at 100% fighting strength, which has historically never been the case. Go back to Roman times and you find that while on paper a Legion had 5,000 men, by Julius Caesar’s time the actual number was more like 3,500. For any army, the full establishment is a theoretical ideal which is rarely if ever achieved in reality.
Some armies do occasionally reach 90% of their official strength, but in practice many vehicles are not serviceable, or have been loaned out to make up a shortfall elsewhere, or a unit is waiting for new equipment. Back in 2016, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu claimed that his tank units had a serviceability rate of 94%, indicating that proportion would be ready to fight on any given day. This number was widely considered to be an exaggeration. In the U.S., M-1 Abrams units in the 1980s aimed at 90% but sometimes sank as low as 54%.
So the actual number of armored vehicles in the field may be somewhat less than the theoretical number.

What did the Russians do today ?

How exactly do you think a pilot get captured in this instance?
Would you believe the story of an unblemished pilot who reportedly had been shot out of the sky earlier that week?
So you think it's completely out of the realm of possibility that they beat the shite out of that dude?
I know if I were in their shoes, I'd 100% take some shots at him. Again, many here suspend reality and any kind of common sense because they're so entrenched in a narrative that it completely clouds their minds of any sort of rational thinking.

This is a weird thing to understand, but in Russia older is better, it means that’s it’s probably more dependable reliable and works.

That would likely collapse the northern front in Ukraine

Not just, it will mean the collapse of the Lukashenko Govt and the possible capture of Russian military assets, also any Chechen folks will have to high tail it back home so that their dissidents don’t get any bright ideas…
