“new age” weapon systems. They can allegedly shot the beer out of your had on a boat going fishing at 50mph, shut down everything electrical for miles, etc.

That’s the ones that were developed in 90s.

Here is that fricking moron Randi Weingarten, head of the teachers unions who should be brought before The Hague for crimes against humanity, with pure stupidity. This bitch is the biggest child abuser in the history of this country and she says she’s helping our kids… Look at the fricking flag!

Could we just take her out back and shoot her like the Troopers should have done with Farva, please? She is a real life Dolores Umbridge who really runs this government and should get at least 20 life sentences for what she’s done to the kids in this country. She is the most evil person in America, and is almost solely responsible for a full generation of fricked up kids.

I just watched a very good special on Putin and his rise to power on Frontline I would highly recommend.

If you are too conservative to watch anything on PBS, here are cliff notes

KGB officer came from nowhere
Very capable political operator
No interest in Democracy at all
Deep resentment of West for fall of Russian empire , very very deep
Basic Bully will do what he wants until you bloody him
After killing all those little kids in attack on terrorist occupation of Russian school he quickly moved to destroy all opposition
Killing little kids not shite to him
Arab Spring and death of Gadifi really freaked him out
Clinton didn’t trust him and warned everyone he was problem
Obama didn’t want to arm Ukrainians
After we did nothing for all the shite he did in Syria, or his meddling in 2016 election, and our retreat from Afghanistan we thought he had green light to take Ukraine
He thinks we are weak and wool test us until we kick his arse
He will attack until you bust him in the nose
He doesn’t give a frick if 20 or 50 thousand to 50 million russian soldiers or people die, they mean nothing to him he is going to take Ukraine, he has always wanted to rebuild the Soviet Empire and has to have Ukraine. if he has to kill every Ukrainian and level every city he will never stop

He is Stalin light basically. Pretty much what many of us on here said all along. He dies or maybe te whole world dies

I saw video earlier today of a Russian tank hitting something. It was said that it was likely an anti-tank mine. It ran over it when crossing open ground from one road to another road.

Needless to say, that tank and its crew were taken out of commission.

Damn, that's gonna leave a mark. (Youtube link)

Not dialed into the intricacies of Belarussian politics, but this comes across as groveling to not be overthrown.

This one wasn't a sniper shot from a distance. Looks like they overran his command post. If they wiped out Division HQ that division will likely be out of action for quite a while.

Not all of them. Watch the end. One guy somehow makes it out. He's smoking, but alive at that point.

Emphasis on light. He would love to be Stalin but he is constrained by factors Stalin didn't have. Stalin wouldn't have gone on TV with a weak excuse about not knowing they were using conscripts. There never would have been any protests, small as they were, because anybody even remotely suspected of disloyalty would have been locked up years ago. Stalin would have shot a dozen generals by now and ordered the army forward with machine guns at their backs. Much as he would like to do all that, Putin can't, not right now. He doesn't have enough years left to rebuild that terror state and technology wouldn't let him if he tried .

Talk to the millions of kids that need a therapist thanks to that evil witch. You wouldn’t be laughing if you were one of the parents of the 18 kids that killed themselves in Henderson Nevada alone thanks to Covid regulations. Randi Weingarten is a uniquely evil monster.

While I hate Fauci, I think he thinks he’s doing what’s good for humanity. Randi Weingarten knows she’s pure evil and gets off on ruining millions of children’s and parents’ lives. She’s a uniquely evil human being where no terrible fate is too foul for her.

Putin was bluffing. He said he wasn’t going to attack. This was all drills. That was the bluff. And when he invaded another country in an attempt to sack its capital and install a new government without any advanced declaration of war that was the sneak attack.

Urk - "Are you going to hit me?"

Rus - "Nope."

USA - "He's balling up his first, he's going to hit you!"

Rus - "No I'm not, it's a cramp."

USA - "Don't listen to him he's squaring up!"

Urk - "Hey yeah it looks like you are going to hit me."

Rus - "No, no, no. I'm just stretching my legs."

USA - "He's cocking his arm back, you should really get ready to get hit."

Urk - "Please don't hit me."

Rus - "I won't! I promise!"

USA - "He's winking at us! He's going to hit you!"

Urk - "Hey you're hitting me!!!"

Rus - "You're mistaken, this is a special handshake!"

Ned - "Holy cow! Nobody saw that coming! What a sneak attack!"

Don’t remember who I was talking to about this but here the quote
“ Lukashenko says Belarus forces will not join the war:
“I want to emphasize once again that we are not going to get involved in this operation that Russia is conducting in Ukraine. The most important thing, as I tell those of you in the military, is that there is no need for that"
The Army in Belarus mutinied within a week of the start of the invasion. Lukashenko can do nothing about it and is busy putting distance between him and his former bro Vladimir. The chances he comes out of all this in good health are slim to none.

When they first started discussing this, the pilots were going to poland to pick them up, then fly them to The Ukraine. Then poland got antsy aboot that, and said they needed to involve the U.S.< and do the Polish shuffle.

Give them the planes, or don't. Stop the games.

You could do that same conversation as between the Brits/Americans and the Japanese in late 1941 (or between Germany and Poland or Russian and Poland in 1939 (poor, poor Poland)).

Having intelligence an attack could be imminent doesn’t render this, a full scale invasion, not a sneak attack. By almost any definition this invasion falls under the shoot first, declare second order of operations. So I’m going to call it a sneak attack. I think Ukrainians who were at their kids soccer practice 20 days ago and are now in bunkers crapping in buckets will likewise digest this into their cultural memory as a sneak attack.

I’m not actually wanting to distract from a decent thread providing updates on this most special military operation.

It is the first month of war in Eastern Europe. The Ukrainians are striking simultaneously on all three fronts against the ailing and regrouping Russian Army. The general counter-offensive comes on the day that the prime ministers of Poland, Slovakia and Czechia rode by train into Kyiv to meet with Zelensky. That this counteroffensive was possible at all is probably owed to the Russian inability or unwillingness to strike railyards and bridges. The Ukrainians have the strategic advantage of interior lines, or the ability to defend and reinforce their frontlines by the chord of its arc. The Russians, however, can only reinforce their lines along the outer circumference of the arc. As long as rail movement is unrestricted, the Ukrainians can shift their reserves to points of threat or opportunity, including heavy armor and artillery, far more efficiently than the widely separated Russians from their invasion points.

The NATO Reaction Force continues to build up with trains full of tanks, including American, snaking east towards Poland and the Baltics. As the NATO buildup continues, it will open up new political and military options. NATO may begin to flex its muscle, especially if it means protecting transshipment points leading into Ukraine. It seems to me that the Russians should be hitting transportation targets to disrupt the movement of Ukrainian reserves and NATO arms shipments. If they could, they would, or anyway it is too demanding to do so. Instead their offensive has ground to a halt. Hopefully the Ukrainian counteroffensive can continue into the next day, and the next. All the Ukrainians need to do is buy time and inflict a grim toll on the hapless Russian soldier.

The US believes that China will accede to Russian requests for military aide. This could be a significant moment when Russia will have become a proxy for China in its rivalry with the United States. For China to deliver modern military aide to Russia would be mutually exclusive of its operational readiness to act against Taiwan, an act that would bring it into a shooting war with the United States. So, as superpowers do, they wage war by proxy. This would be a significant geopolitical pivot for China to aide Russia, a rival for influence in Central Asia. It would also be a significant confession of Russia's own decline and misperception of its own power.

Zelensky is going to address Congress tomorrow and beg for a no-fly zone. He knows there are sympathetic ears in that body that are more hawkish than the administration. Meanwhile the Russian Air Force seems less active, perhaps more content to launch cruise missiles from bombers flying well within Russian or Belarussian airspace. Ukraine is still teeming with anti-aircraft missiles able to intercept Russian aircraft across all envelopes. Their inability to neutralize Ukrainian air defenses was the biggest strategic mistake of the war... besides actually invading, of course.

Things to watch will be whether the Ukrainian counter-offensive can roll up some of the Russian lines northwest of Kyiv, and whether the Siege of Mariupol can be relieved. There is an approaching NATO summit on March 24th. My guess is it will summon political commitments for near-term deployments on the Eastern Flank. This could mean deployments of additional US forces from CONUS towards Europe.
