Actually I do, and while everyone in the media was saying he claimed he would make deal in 24 hrs, no one reported what he said later in the same talks that he would arm Ukraine if Russia didn't cooperate. Trump ALWAYS leaves an out for himself if anyone would ever listen to his 3 hr speeches. My Gazprom friend pointed it out as well. Two personal friends who were his campaign team in LA for 2016 kept trying to tell me to listen to the entirety of his speeches during the primaries.

Don't you know the difference between taking him literally versus seriously?
He's actually breaking his implied promise by keeping his literal one.
Classic 5D Trump. Always one step ahead.
Trump sees the world as a completely transactional place where he is the center of the universe and Putin and everybody else wants to make sure they have a good relationship on good terms with him.
Putin, realizing this, has played him since Trump got back into office...
And it's at the point where Trump can't deny that... so

The twisted logic is funny at this point.
So Putin has played Trump into giving weapons to Ukraine. Thats a bold strategy.

I dont understand why more dont applaud what Trump is doing if you are a ukraine fan.
Instead its "Trump changed his mind". If the situation has changed, you would be quite ignorant to stick to the original plan.
He thought he could get peace quickly by stopping weapons but zelensky was addicted to the fame and theft, so it was not possible.
Now ukraine is falling apart on all fronts and ukraine is at risk of losing the entire country and wants a deal. But Russia has all the momentum and by gaining territory everyday is increasing its leverage in any deal.
So Trump has made it clear we will help ukraine hold while they can still negotiate to keep part of their country.
Your hatred of Trump and Putin are clouding your judgement of the situation.

So by your logic Trump:
Misunderstood the situation on the battlefield
Misjudged and misunderstood what motivates Putin
Misjudged and misunderstood what motivates Zelensky
Miscalculated the leverage he had over both sides
And now he sends more weapons to be wasted, and more money to be laundered. But all in a futile attempt at saving face because:
And all of this because
But he didn't stop weapons. He authorized Johnson to ask Congress to approve the $95 billion of weapons that Biden wanted. Then when he became president he didn't stop the flow of weapons or money. Even though he could have.
Now he's sending more.
Sounds to me like.you could only come to one of three conculsions here:
Trump is an idiot who has no business handling complex foreign policy issues that he obviously doesn't understand
Trump is part of the international cabal of globalist elites enriching himself by laundering billions from the money he sent
Or, Trump genuinely wants Ukraine to win
Which of these three do you think it is?
Or do you have a fourth option that I haven't considered?
Also, it seems the Ukraine front is collapsing again. When should we expect the breakthrough?

ISW Update May 5 2025
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that Russia maintains its initial objectives of its war in Ukraine, which are tantamount to Ukraine's surrender, despite ongoing negotiations with the United States.
Putin highlighted domestic support for the war and promoted the ideal of sacrifice on the frontline and the home front, likely in an effort to prepare Russian society for a longer war in Ukraine and potential future confrontations with the West.
Ukraine's Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Head Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov provided new details on May 4 about the report that Ukrainian forces shot down a Russian fixed-wing aircraft with a surface-to-air missile (SAM) attached to a naval drone on May 2.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Toretsk, and Russian forces recently advanced near Kupyansk and Toretsk.

Trump stated that Russia seeks to occupy the entire territory of Ukraine, but it should abandon those ambitions.
"Russia will have to give up all of Ukraine. Because Russia wants all of Ukraine. And if I hadn’t intervened, they would still be fighting for the whole of Ukraine right now. Russia doesn’t just want the piece it currently holds — it wants the entire country," said the U.S. President.
Trump also added that European leaders had repeatedly asked him to call Putin, as the latter was ignoring their calls.

If Trump fails to convince putin to negotiate peace, the EU may increase military aid to Ukraine.
This was announced by EU Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius.
Kubilius noted that the EU and the US provide Ukraine with about €40 billion in military aid annually. But the same money can be used to buy weapons in Ukraine twice as cheaply as in the EU or the US. This would effectively double the amount of aid, raising its real value to €80 billion.

Thursday Russia was Bragging about taking most of Belovody a village if 488 people. 488 people not 488 homes.
Today is Monday and Russia is still attacking Belovody.
Another breakthrough??

In Sept, Trinidad and Lima and various other Putin cockholsters were bragging that Pokrovsk was about to fall. And as soon as that happened the Ukrainian line would be untenable and the rest of Donetsk would fall. Ukraine is collapsing!!!
Now it's been 8 months and Russia has quietly stopped trying to even take Pokrovsk. Maybe the big June offensive?
I guess we'll have to wait for that collapse.....

How long ago did we hear the war was over? How often do we hear Russia is winning? Don’t they realize that you can be gaining ground and losing at the same time if the cost for the gains is more than the gains are worth?

Hence this graph I ran a few days ago. Russia maybe gaining land slowly, but it is VERY slowly. And at an increasingly high cost. The graph is before Russia took back the Ukraine occupied land in Kursk; that was about 1,200 km2 so it's pretty much a blip compared to the total. Total Ukraine land area is 580,000 km2.

Thanks for the updates on Ukrainian advances in Russian territory.
I thought Russia was advancing and Ukraine was running out of men?
I'm sure you guys can throw a few thousand North Koreans in there and plug the gap before it gets too serious
