So few lessons learned from history. Seriously, why hasn’t Ukraine been going all out for an end to this? They should have been aligning with Trump to get the best peace deal possible.
What tells you Russia is ready to negotiate?
Zelensky could beg to negotiate but unless Russia agrees nothing will happen.
But I do believe Zekensky completely botched the PR game and pissed Trump off. Dumb move.

Russia suffers heavy losses near Sudzha on Kursk front, no large-scale breakthrough near Ukrainian border
KATERYNA TYSHCHENKO, VALENTYNA ROMANENKO — Saturday, 8 March 2025, 18:18
Ukraine's General Staff has stated that the situation in Russia's Kursk Oblast remains under the control of Ukrainian forces and that reports of a large-scale Russian breakthrough of Ukraine's border in Sumy Oblast are false. Additionally, Russian special forces, which had earlier attempted to infiltrate Ukrainian positions in the town of Sudzha via a gas pipeline, are suffering "enormous" losses.
Source: press service for Ukraine's General Staff in a comment to Ukrainska Pravda
Quote: "Reports of a large-scale breakthrough of the Ukrainian state border by Russian troops are false. The enemy is still operating with sabotage and reconnaissance groups and small infantry units of several people in the areas of Novenke and Zhuravka in Sumy Oblast. They are attempting to establish a foothold on Ukrainian territory to expand the combat zone but are gradually being crushed.
In addition, the enemy combined sabotage and assault groups have moved along a gas pipeline branch to gain a foothold in the outskirts of the town of Sudzha in Kursk Oblast. At present, Russian special forces are being tracked down, blocked and destroyed. The enemy losses in Sudzha are enormous".
Details: The General Staff reported that heavy fighting continues in Kursk Oblast. The situation remains challenging but under the control of the Ukrainian forces command.

ISW Update March 8 2025

Key Takeaways:
The extent of the US suspension of intelligence sharing with Ukraine remains unclear.
Western and Ukrainian officials indicated that the US suspension of intelligence sharing is generating battlefield effects.
European states continue efforts to supplement intelligence sharing with Ukraine following the US suspension.
Russian forces intensified their multi-directional campaign to eliminate the remaining Ukrainian salient in Kursk Oblast on March 7 and 8.
Russian forces appear to be destroying bridges in Kursk Oblast and along the international border, likely as part of efforts to prevent Ukrainian forces from withdrawing from Kursk Oblast into Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense's (MoD) Main Military-Political Directorate Deputy Head and Akhmat Spetsnaz Commander, Major General Apti Alaudinov, announced the intensified Russian effort in Kursk Oblast on March 8.
Russian forces conducted a series of missile and drone strikes against Ukrainian rear and near rear areas on the night of March 7 and 8 and during the day on March 8, and Ukrainian forces notably did not shoot down any Russian ballistic missiles.
The Kremlin continues to promote the false narrative that European Union (EU) member states and Ukraine seek to protract and escalate the war in Ukraine in order to distract from Russia's own long-term preparations for a war with the West.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on March 8 that Ukrainian Presidential Administration Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President's Office Colonel Pavlo Palisa will participate in the US-Ukrainian talks on March 11 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Toretsk and Pokrovsk, and Russian forces recently advanced in Kursk Oblast and near Toretsk and Pokrovsk.

History shows Russia will just re-group and go back in for the rest in 5 years. Unless Ukraine can be guaranteed it'll be a lasting peace, why go for peace at all? Just kicking the can down the road.
Oh I agree, we are all going to die someday, why not just kill yourself today?
What kind of stupid logic is that?
Oh this could, might, should , ought to, maybe, well heck why get married, have children, have a career, best just to end it all now.
Idiotic post

If you think your best chance at survival is fighting today rather than having your kids fight in 15 years - you fight today. If you think it's better to wait, then you wait.
No idea which options is best for Ukraine, but it's for them to decide (just like it's ours to decide whether to arm them or not).

Kursk is just the latest slaughter.
Please tell ukraine to stop this slaughter of their people.
