They have been trying to convince us of their arguments for 3 years. Now they are trying to convince themselves.

Do you care when US foreign policy triggers conflicts like we see in Ukraine?
America has a lot to do with Russia going in Ukraine because we encouraged NATO expansion the last 20 years adding 14 countries towards Russian borders
Recently as last year Senator Blinken said that NATO could fast track Ukraine into membership
So it’s a complicated mess but if you wanna uncomplicate it, that’s the that’s the fuse.
Now our foreign policy is completely different under Trump
Our new message basically states we’re not going to fund this nonsense further and Europe, you need to step up and fund your obligations to NATO since it’s in a year backyard it’s in your best interest to defend yourselves. We are no longer going to be leading these efforts in your backyard. (1/3rd of NATO nations still are not giving 2% of their GDP, a promise made 10 years ago...
We are still going to be allies, but we are no longer going to be out front with all of the responsibility and carrying most of the financial liability.
Ukraine was never going to be a part of NATO. We have to ask why our policy in the past 20 years was geared toward antagonizing Russia?
Putin has made it clear in many speeches consistently dating back to around 2007 that Ukraine and NATO would be considered a serious threat to Russia. Hate all you want, but at least he's been consistent on "you do this, we do that"
There have been recent reports Europe would fully support Ukraine
But that tone isn’t going to be met with real action in my opinion because the United States is pulling back. It's going to get interesting
Essentially, the US is not participating in the globalist agenda as long as Trump is POTUS...

UPDATE ON UKRAINE
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
21 February 2025
Russian military commanders are 'forcing' men mobilised in 2022 to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defence, according to independent Russian media outlet Verstka.
Whilst contracts given to Russian soldiers are said to have formal end dates, they can reportedly run indefinitely, with those who refuse to sign threatened with being sent into 'meat grinder' assaults with survival rates as low as 10-15 per cent.
Russian efforts to coerce mobilised soldiers to sign indefinite contracts are highly likely motivated in part by a lack of experienced soldiers, with Russia having sustained approximately 860,000 killed and wounded since invading Ukraine in 2022. This has severely depleted the number of Russian personnel with more than rudimentary levels of training.
Russia's leadership also almost certainly perceives such measures as reducing the potential requirement for further domestically unpopular mobilisations. After Putin's announcement of the partial mobilisation in 2022, hundreds of thousands of young and educated Russians chose to leave the country rather than participate in the illegal Russian invasion. This has substantially contributed to long-term difficulties for Russia's labour market.

by Martin Fornusek February 21, 2025 9:09 AM
Russian attacks across Ukrainian oblasts killed at least 12 civilians and injured at least six over the past day, regional authorities reported on Feb. 21.
Russia launched 160 Shahed-type attack drones and decoy drones against Ukraine overnight, the Air Force said. Eighty-seven drones were shot down, while 70 were lost without causing damage, according to the statement.
Russian forces also reportedly fired two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles against Odesa Oblast, the Air Force reported, without providing details on the consequences.
During Russian attacks against the Nikopol district in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, two men aged 57 and 73 were killed, and a woman was injured, Governor Serhii Lysak said. Two enterprises, two shops, a cafe, two high-rise buildings, six houses, and other buildings were damaged.
Russian attacks against Donetsk Oblast killed seven people and injured two, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin.
An airstrike against the city of Kostiantynivka killed five people, injured one, and damaged multiple buildings. Two more people were reported killed in Mykolaivka and Vesele, and one civilian was injured in Pokrovsk, according to Filashkin.
In Kherson Oblast, two people were killed and two injured in Russian attacks, said the regional governor, Oleksandr Prokudin. Fifteen houses and a multi-story building were damaged.
In Zaporizhzhia Oblast, a man was killed during a Russian attack against Huliaipole, and a woman was injured during a strike on Bilenke, according to Governor Ivan Fedorov.

I agree that if Zaluzhny runs he will crush Zelensky. That would definitely be best for Ukraine. Trump doesn't like Zelensky and they have a bad relationship. Someone new would create a new opportunity to create a positive relationship. Zaluzhny is highly respected in Ukraine.
Zelensky needs to go now for Ukraine's sake. Some Ukrainians may realize this and coup his arse.

In the Kurakhovo direction, the Russian army has already entered the village of Ulakly in the so-called Andreevsky "sack" to the west of Kurakhovo, but there are still Ukrainian soldiers there who cannot leave.
This was reported by a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the call sign “Muchnoy”.
"Ukrainian fighters in Ulakly requested evacuation, from above they were constantly fed promises that we would pick them up tomorrow. As a result, the village is a f...k, Russian soldiers are running around everywhere, the sky is also controlled by them, there is no interaction or communication... Now they say that they were able to pull out some of the Ukrainian servicemen, but not all, and there is still no communication with anyone," he wrote.
Mukhnoy also reports that Russian troops are trying to take control of the village of Constantinople, but Ukrainian forces are not allowing them to do so, constantly introducing reserves into the battle."

Americans, Russians have held undisclosed talks on Ukraine in Switzerland, sources say
quote:
U.S. and Russian participants have met in Switzerland for unofficial talks about the Ukraine war in recent months, including as recently as last week, three sources with knowledge of the matter said.
While the attendees have diplomatic and security experience, they are not government officials and it was not immediately clear if any were sent by their governments, two of the sources said. The sources declined to identify the attendees.
The sources described the talks as a side channel with some contacts occurring during the transition period following U.S. President Donald Trump's Nov. 5 election victory.
At least a small number of advisers to Trump are aware of the encounters, said one of the sources, who had direct knowledge of the matter.
Many other details remain unclear, including whether Ukrainians were present, when the encounters began and what the meetings' agendas covered.
But the previously undisclosed meetings highlight behind-the-scenes U.S. and Russian efforts to explore ways to end the Ukraine war despite a near-freeze on official contact under Trump's predecessor, former President Joe Biden.
Trump, in office for just a month, has upended the U.S. approach toward the three-year-old Ukraine conflict, engaging directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin and pushing for a quick deal to end the war.
On Tuesday, top U.S. officials met with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
One of the sources described the Switzerland talks as "Track Two" discussions - diplomatic parlance for unofficial dialogue geared toward improving communication and floating ideas, rather than developing concrete proposals.
The White House National Security Council, the Ukrainian government and Russia's foreign ministry did not respond to requests for comment.
The Swiss foreign ministry said meetings are regularly held in Switzerland between parties involved in the Ukraine conflict on a Track Two basis, and that it was informed of them.
Organized by non-state actors, they enabled exchanges not directly involving governments, it said in a statement.
"These activities help to sustain diplomatic efforts relating to the conflict," the ministry said.
Two of the sources said at least one encounter took place in Geneva during last week's Munich Security Conference, a gathering of international political leaders and security chiefs in the German city.
Reuters reported last year on separate Track Two talks in 2023 and early 2024, when Putin sent signals that he was willing to consider a ceasefire in Ukraine. Those talks appeared to come to nothing.
Historically, Track Two talks have helped build dialogue among deeply distrustful counterparties in the hope that better communication might lead to diplomatic breakthroughs.
In 2023, NBC reported that former U.S. national security officials held secret talks with Russians believed to be close to the Kremlin, with some members eventually meeting with Lavrov, the foreign minister.
One of the sources suggested Track Two talks may have lost much of their relevance as U.S. and Russian officials have established official channels of dialogue in recent weeks.

Russia wants to declare 'victory' over Ukraine on Feb. 24, Ukrainian intel claims
by Kateryna Denisova February 21, 2025 11:37 AM
Russia is instructing its propagandists to declare "victory" in the war "against Ukraine and NATO" on Feb. 24, the third anniversary of its full-scale invasion, Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) claimed on Feb. 21.
After Russia failed to take over Ukraine within days in 2022 and suffered several defeats in 2022, the Kremlin began to push the false claim that Russia was at war with NATO.
Western partners have been providing Ukraine with weapons since the beginning of the all-out war but have never sent troops to Ukraine, fearing escalation.
The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported in its daily update on Feb. 21 that Moscow had lost 864,860 troops in Ukraine since February 2022, including 1,280 casualties Russian forces suffered just over the past day.
According to Ukraine's intelligence agency, Russia now aims to sow despair among Ukrainians, destabilize the situation in the country, and discredit Ukraine among its allies.
Russian intelligence services plan to spread the narrative that "Ukraine has been betrayed" by the West and the U.S., HUR claimed. Russian propaganda will also keep on questioning the legitimacy of President Volodymyr Zelensky and "the corrupt Ukrainian officials who steal U.S. aid."
Ukraine's allies had generally ignored a propaganda narrative about Zelensky's legitimacy until U.S. President Donald Trump accused Ukraine of starting the war and appeared to echo the Kremlin's lines, dubbing Ukraine's president as a dictator.
Echoing HUR's warnings, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) pointed to mounting cases of Russia's informational and psychological operations aimed against Ukraine.
Using bot farms and fake social media accounts, Russian intelligence services aim to divide Ukrainian society and call for public order disruptions, the SBU said.
