free speech absolutist "fixing" community notes...

Musk Vows to ‘Fix’ X Feature Over Ukraine and Zelensky

Many have used the ‘Community Notes’ feature under Musk’s anti-Zelensky post, which allows users to attach context to posts that may contain misinformation in order to debunk them.

by AFP | February 21, 2025, 12:48 pm

Elon Musk said Thursday that a feature on his social media platform X which allows users to fact-check potentially misleading posts was being “gamed” over Ukraine’s President Volodymr Zelensky and vowed to “fix” it.

Musk spoke after his ally US President Donald Trump turned on his one-time ally Zelensky in recent days, accusing the Ukrainian leader of being a “dictator” and having started Ukraine’s war with Russia -- narratives long pushed by Moscow.

The about-face has seen social media users -- including stunned European officials and journalists -- take to X in particular to defend Ukraine and Zelensky.

Many have used the “Community Notes” feature, which allows users to attach content to posts that could contain misinformation to debunk them.

“Unfortunately, @CommunityNotes is increasingly being gamed by governments & legacy media. Working to fix this,” Musk wrote on X Thursday.

“It should be utterly obvious that a Zelensky-controlled poll about his OWN approval is not credible!!” he continued, adding: “In reality, he is despised by the people of Ukraine, which is why he has refused to hold an election.”

GROK disagrees with ketamined owner...

Grok, who has the higher approval rating, Trump or Zelensky?

As of the most recent data available in early February 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has a higher approval rating than U.S. President Donald Trump. According to a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) from February 4-9, 2025, 57% of Ukrainians trust Zelensky, marking a slight increase from 52% in December 2024. This figure is often interpreted as an approval rating in the Ukrainian context, as trust and approval are closely related metrics there. Other surveys, such as one from the International Republican Institute in October 2024, reported Zelensky’s approval at 69%, though this reflects a different timeframe and methodology.

In contrast, Trump’s approval rating in the United States, based on a Reuters/Ipsos poll published on February 19, 2025, stands at 44%, with a disapproval rating of 51%. Earlier data from The Economist/YouGov poll (February 16-18, 2025) shows Trump with a 47% favorable opinion and a 49% unfavorable rating, indicating his approval has hovered below 50% in recent weeks. Posts on X and various news reports also suggest Trump’s approval has been trending lower than Zelensky’s, with some citing figures as low as 44% compared to Zelensky’s 57% or higher.

While polling methodologies and contexts differ—Zelensky’s ratings reflect trust amidst a wartime scenario, and Trump’s are based on broader public sentiment—the available evidence indicates Zelensky currently enjoys a higher approval rating than Trump. However, these numbers can fluctuate, and Trump’s rating may shift as his administration progresses.

"I don't think he's very important to be at meetings," Trump says of Zelensky.

Why do some here believe a comedian is qualified to bring victory to Ukraine vs Russia? That alone is insanity.

Why did some believe an actor was qualified to bring victory in the Cold War against Russia?

Or for that matter a failed businessman and reality tv show guy be President of the US at the moment?

If allowed to attend, Zelensky would absolutely hijack/kill any chance for peace. Trump knew this and that is the reason he is not there.

I find it cute how you leftists love Reagan now. Just like you now love the Cheney's and John McCain.

Just like you leftists loved the Soviet Union during 50's-60's- 70's (Ex: Communist Bernie Sanders) and now you hate Russia. Why is that?

What about a guy in a wheel chair bringing down Hitler and Tojo?

Elections can be won by a general, but that isn’t usually the case.

Btw, how well is the ex KGB guy doing? It’s almost been three years and he’s still plodding along. It seems Ttump might do in a couple of months ehat Ouyin couldn’t do in three years. Take down Ukraine.

He has no credibility with Trump and his people (Vance, Rubio, Musk, Hegseth, Tulsi, etc.

They have all roasted his arse over the past 3 days.

Rubio just called him a liar.

If the people of Ukraine want any more assistance from the US, they need to replace Z-Man.

Actually this seems to be a good idea. Zelensky could resign and let their VP take over (if they have one) or follow whatever their constitution says to do if there is a vacancy.

Unfortunately Russia had painted Zekensky as the instigator here and Trump is running with that for some reason.

Trump is refusing to back Zelensky because Zelensky did not have Trump's back when your liberal brethren attempted to impeach Trump.

Cargo Pants could have shut all the impeachment talk down real quick, but he kept silent. Trump remembers that.

On top of that, he doubled down this past week by insulting Trump.

Bold strategy, Cotton!

Because Trump does not have it in him to stand up to Putin in any way.

Zelensky actually said Trump did not pressure him...

“There was no pressure or blackmail from the U.S."
- Zelensky

He was lying, we all heard the recording of the "perfect phone call," but he insisted Trump did not pressure him.

Lil' Marco - Zelenskyy is a meanie...

Trump ‘Very Upset’ With Zelensky – Rubio

As the US state secretary tries to reassure Europe that Washington has not turned its back on Ukraine, he also criticizes Kyiv for not taking up a deal that would sign away half the country’s wealth.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a Thursday interview that President Donald Trump has become “very upset” with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

When asked by Canadian journalist Catherine Herridge about his thoughts on Trump calling Zelensky a “dictator without elections,” Rubio hinted that Trump was upset because he thought Zelensky had been ungrateful for US support.

“I think President Trump is very upset at President Zelensky and – and some – and rightfully so… There are newspaper articles out there about how [Joe Biden] cursed at him in a phone call because Zelensky, instead of saying thank you for all your help, is immediately out there messaging what we’re not doing or what he’s not getting,” Rubio said, according to a transcript of the interview released by the State Department.

Rubio did not, however, address Trump’s accusation of Ukraine’s lack of elections in his answer.

Trump has claimed that Zelensky was a dictator because of the lack of elections in Ukraine after Russia’s 2022 invasion, though elections are prohibited in Ukraine during martial law. This was written into the Ukrainian Constitution in 2015 under the previous Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko.
