Reporter: “Doesn't mean you are not sending any more aid to Ukraine.?”
Trump: “No. We are, but we want it secured, and the money is gonna be secured.
Because if we didn't do that, then Putin would say he won. We're the thing that's holding it back, and frankly, we'll go as long as we have to go because we're not gonna let the other happen.”

ISW Update Feb 12
quote:
Key Takeaways:
US President Donald Trump held bilateral phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on February 12.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov and Russian Security Council Deputy Chairperson Dmitry Medvedev explicitly rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal to trade occupied Ukrainian territory for territory held by Ukrainian forces in Kursk Oblast during future peace negotiations.
Denmark's Defense Intelligence Service (DDIS) assessed that Russia may have the capabilities to launch a full-scale war against NATO in the next five years, which is consistent with ISW's assessments about Russian efforts to restructure and prepare its military and society for a future conflict with NATO in the medium to long-term.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (MoD) recently launched the "Contract 18-24" voluntary recruitment program aimed a recruiting 18 to 24-year-old Ukrainians into the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Russian President Vladimir Putin held his first official call with Syrian Interim President Ahmed al Shara on February 12 since the fall of Russian-backed former Syrian President Bashar al Assad.
The Armenian National Assembly approved a draft law in the first reading on February 12 to commence the process of joining the European Union (EU).
Ukrainian forces recently advanced in Kursk Oblast and near Toretsk, and Russian forces recently advanced in Kursk Oblast and near Borova, Siversk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhove.

There won't be a "Minsk 3" - the fighting will go on - even during the first talks with Trump.
NATO needs a humiliating defeat - which will make it easier for Trump to end that useless tool for good.
Even in Europe voices for an "own defense organisation" are growing. And that will have to include a new security architecture in which Russia will have a word - and "Europe" will have to accept that. The countries not hostile to Russia - like Hungary will play a role to reopen the bridges."

I will communicate with Putin frequently by phone and look forward to his visit to the United States .
Putin will be arrested and brought before the Hague if he leaves the Russia/China/North Korea/Iran Axis of Evil...
Putin arrest warrant issued over war crime allegations
March, 2023
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The court alleges he is responsible for war crimes, and has focused its claims on the unlawful deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia.
It says the crimes were committed in Ukraine from 24 February 2022 - when Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

Trump reads his own press all day long... he must not have liked how people were describing this situation

This would be a better thread. Unfortunately he is a mentally handicapped 12 year old son of a fat and dumb “content creator” from Fort Smith Arkansas.

quote:Lots of discussion about a US - Ukrainian deal over Ukrainian mineral resources but let's not lose sight of the underlying stategic considerations.
Trump: So, we're we're getting, security on our money. We're gonna have it secured by they have, rear earth, and they have oil and gas, and they have a lot of other things.
On the surface, it's just transactional economics. Something that Trump understands. And extracting wealth from foreign countries under duress is a long-standing US practice. Louisiana's own Sam Zemurray wrote the book. However, the Ukrainians would get the better side of the deal by far. That's why they're promoting it.
Trump's supporters are suddenly realizing the incredible amount of generational wealth these resources represent. And with the US political power enforcing any investments they make to extract these resources, any agreements made with a willing Ukrainian government are literally gold.
Why would the Ukrainians be so willing to give up their mineral wealth in a seemingly bad deal? Because of the location of these minerals. They are predominently located in the Donbas - territory currently held by Russia. So with these deals, Ukraine gives great monetary incentive to some very powerful people to get the Russians out of this territory. Very powerful US people with very powerful lobbying resources to send US military equipment to Ukraine to back up their claims.
With this move, Ukraine could change the US support philosophy from a charitable, moral basis which will never last forever to a very lucrative financial basis which will last for generations. And kick the Russians out of the occupied territory.
The US military is the most powerful in the world. But it has nothing on the power of Wall Street. That's what the Ukrainians are trying to tap into. If I'm Zelensky, I'm holding territorial mineral rights auctions in NYC next week. Get as many powerful investors as possible locked in. And then give them the phone number of the White House...

I always thought this was the case... I started to ask about it here last week, when somebody or other said that Russia occupied the most resource-rich part of Ukraine.
Interesting

Not to mention that the investment bank behind him was owned by the same banks which owned the Federal Reserve and that investment bank was funded on profits to be invested in the Americas outside of the USA.
My wife's great grandfather was an EVP of the bank, over its branch in NOLA. We have photos of his trip to Tela, Honduras. Note the Great White Fleet merchant line and use of the newly invented conveyor belt to load bananas onto a ship. Louis Henry Phillipe Moss had been an officer in the Expeditionary Force in Europe for WWI before taking this position. His father had been a seaman from Cornwall who came to New Orleans pre Civil War and spent a few years in a Union POW camp. Returned to become a cobbler on Esplanade. During his monthly trips to NYC for meetings, he stayed at the Brevoort Hotel which was the best in NYC at the time.

So many great stories coming out of New Orleans in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. And most of them involving Central America, Yankee banks, immigrants just off the boat and mysterious still-unsolved accounting gaps.
Then the oil industry appeared and things got really unbelieveable.
