#Meduza; The U.S. Government’s Anti-Russia Mouthpiece.

Funding:
• $250,000+ from USAID & NED in 2023 alone
• Direct grants from the U.S. State Department & European governments
• Partnered with Open Society Foundations (Soros)

What they do:
Meduza claims to be an “independent Russian media” outlet, but in reality, it’s a Western-backed propaganda operation designed to destabilize Russia and push NATO’s narratives.

Major Exposures:
1. Meduza’s Direct U.S. Government Funding
• In 2023, leaked documents confirmed Meduza received funding from the U.S. government under the pretext of “supporting press freedom in Russia.”
• Despite claiming to be independent, Meduza’s financial reports show major funding from USAID, NED, and European state-sponsored NGOs.
• Russia officially labeled Meduza a “foreign agent” in 2021 after exposing its ties to Western intelligence cutouts.

Pushing Fake News About Ukraine -A key amplifier of false claims about Russia’s military operations.

• The Bucha Massacre Hoax
- Immediately blamed Russia for civilian deaths in Bucha before any investigation was conducted.
- Western forensic reports later failed to prove Russian involvement, but Meduza never corrected its reporting.
• The Snake Island Hoax
• Falsely reported that Ukrainian soldiers were killed in a “heroic last stand” against Russian forces.
• The truth? They surrendered unharmed and were later returned to Ukraine in a prisoner swap.
• Meduza quietly removed the original article but never issued a retraction.

Promoting Western-Backed Russian Opposition:
• Aggressively promoted Alexei Navalny as the “leader of the Russian opposition” while ignoring his ties to Western intelligence.
• In 2021, Meduza published an article claiming Navalny was “poisoned by Putin”, despite zero conclusive evidence and multiple contradictions in the official story.
• Never reported on Navalny’s racist and xenophobic statements—a clear sign they are pushing a curated Western-friendly version of him.

Meduza’s Role in Censoring Dissent:
• Worked with Western tech companies to push for deplatforming Russian media, including RT and Sputnik.
• While claiming to fight for “press freedom,” lobbied for YouTube and Twitter to ban Russian news outlets.
• Direct partnership with Facebook’s “fact-checking” division, where they label pro-Russian perspectives as “disinformation” while allowing NATO-backed narratives to spread unchecked.

Hypocrisy on Press Freedom:
• Portrays itself as a victim of Russian censorship, but:
- actively censors dissenting voices inside Russia.
- bans pro-Russian commentators from its platforms.
- Ignores Western crackdowns on independent journalists (e.g., Julian Assange, Gonzalo Lira)

The problem wasn't our ability or even our political will to defeat the NVA. It was the fact that the government in power in Saigon was just as fricked up, corrupt, and ineffective as the one in Hanoi. The country got what it wanted. Or at least what it deserved. It's doing fine now. And the Vietnamese absolutely hate China. So they're a strong potential ally in the future.

This is correct. Ho Chi Mihn did not want Vietnam to be another domino.

What he wanted was to end French colonialism. He succeeded.

The US drafted 18 year olds. When the nation is at risk that’s what is necessary.

If Ukraine is in need of troops, then they should do what is necessary to defend their nation.

The US had bumper crops of young men during WWI and WWII... and relatively little work for them to do at the time. Same with Vietnam... the Baby Boomers were probably the biggest generation in American history. It is shitty that it comes down to that calculus, “can we expend human lives, militarily, and at the same time fix our domestic problem of a surplus of labor”... but that does figure into things... it did in Russia with this, too, as the rural and Eastern populations are an underemployed potential rebellion if the vodka and krokodil ever run out.

Ukraine has a demographic problem as it is... they're smart enough to not want to just end their population completely.

Why is it bad for Ukraine to draft “youth”, but not Russia?

It’s the smallest age cohort they have available. And with the death toll from the war, it will retard the population recovery they need in post war years.

Well, that was a quarter century ago. But if he is still complicit, then take him down.

These scandals are all bipartisan. Neither party is innocent.

I won't bother posting anything here about it, and even saying this make heads explode because the vast majority of you are ideologically dug in... but Trump and Elon's claims about USAID are all bullshite... and more worrying, they are Kremlin-generated bullshite. Musk has always had animus towards the organization because South African whites blamed it for bringing down Apartheid, Trump's animus has always been there, even though Ivanka and Melania did a lot of work for the agency. And what's the point... some fraction of 1% of the Federal budget. It's just a PR stunt to get cheers... and nobody ever went broke underestimating the American public's math abilities. "5 BILLION DOLLARS!!! WHOA!!!!" When the budget is trillions of dollars, that does not move the needle. There is not enough discretionary spending for DOGE to cut to make a difference. They're just going to screw up the country and the world and possibly get tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations rammed through before anybody realizes.

downvote away. You don't have to bother to reply or hurl insults (you won't be able to help yourselves, though).

They have a far greater problem than demographics. A foreign invader is threatening to take over the country.

I’m just being real here. I see it as an all in situation. Saving good, able bodied men to work under Russian rule doesn’t make sense.

At least we are getting insight into who funds who among those who support Ukraine.

I look forward to seeing JB post the same on who Russia supports. I wonder if Russia audits their provocateurs, propogandists as well?

They are giving those men the chance to get married and father children... and I believe above age 24 draftees with families and children aren't the first they take... so there's an incentive there.

On the Russian side, they are trying not to send the educated, middle-class urban (and more "European") populations of Moscow, St. Petersberg and a few other cities for the same reason... but those people generally have very low birthrates for all of the usual urbanized reasons.

I'm a "Leftist," but most of you guys have gone so far right (and some of the far left has gone off the deep end) that I'm now a moderate Centrist by comparison.

POLITICO: Judge blocks Trump administration from putting 2,200 USAID workers on leave
The decision from U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointee, is a swift brushback to the administration’s attempt to dismantle the agency.

"And (Shumate, representing the Trump administration) said the decisions were being made as a result of Trump’s conclusion that the agency was wracked with fraud and corruption. When Nichols pressed him for details about that finding, Shumate said no explanation was necessary.”

TRUST ME, BRO!
