Yeah I don't think California needs Ukraine's help with creating a disaster

BTW, the fire equipment donated to Ukraine in 2022 was surplus ballistic helmets and bullet proof vests already replaced
What are you talking about? Seriously!

In a Ukrainian thread, this is not remotely a critique of Ukraine.
Ukraine was offered massive firefighting supplies including Fire Engines and piles of fire equipment from California. Why would you attempt to minimize that fact? What should Ukraine have done? Should they have turned those offerings down? Of course not!

Instead, this is a criticism of Californian administrative incompetence. State and Local officials had no idea as to the risk their water policies, forest management, funding priorities, etc., imposed on their constituents. The Ukrainian donations were a feel good measure that CA simply couldn't afford.

Why try to make that seem controversial?

That will stir up Georgia... can NATO membership be far behind?

Russian elite 'disappointed' about Putin's handling of war in Ukraine, Meduza reports

by The Kyiv Independent news desk January 10, 2025 1:33 PM

Members of Russia's political elite are "disappointed" with Russian President Vladimir Putin's handling of the war in Ukraine, and had hoped it would end in 2024, Meduza reported on Jan. 9.

Citing ten officials including two sources close to Putin’s administration, and one senator, the independent Russian media outlet said the state of the country's economy was a particular "point of tension."

"The main emotion is disappointment," a source in the Russian government told Meduza, adding: "We expected the war to end, for the fighting to end. Fatigue has been the main feeling for a long time."

"We’re already tired of waiting, even. It feels like you’re going deeper and deeper every day. We also expected some kind of lifting of sanctions in exchange for peace. Now, they’re inflicting more and more pain," the source added.

Sources cited by Meduza also said the prospects for peace had diminished after Ukraine launched its Kursk incursion in August 2024, though they added the war may have dragged on into 2025 regardless.

"The president likes to fight, it’s exciting for him. Why stop halfway if you can put the final squeeze on them?" one said.

Show us your Exxon engineering, wannabe engineer who doesn't know shiite from shinola about crude oil/condensate,, refining or chemicals. If you actually are an engineer, then definitely a DEI hire.

I buy, sell, broker used and surplus process equipment and plants.

Business was slow during OBiden admin, but ramped up this week. Some items I didn't have in storage so had to find them, then wait for responses.

It's going to be profitable month already. That isn't counting the finalization of design for a new process to be built in Texas with a European investor trading company to upgrade shitty Eagle Ford "crude oil".

Meanwhile, all that you know about is what you see in the news and reported by dullards outside of the ability to write or speak well. It matters little what political sector they are out of.

Why would countries closer to Moscow spend more money on defense? Don't they know that Russia is no threat to them?
