What is interesting is that Toropets looks larger than the Seal Beach Weapons Depot which supplies the Pacific Fleet of the US. Supply ships would dock in the afternoon, be loaded at night and gone by daylight when I lived in Seal Beach in the early 90's. Locals all figured that nukes were also stored there.

The US actually held up application to join NATO for each of the former Warsaw Pact nations for several years.

Do some fricking research better that some graph calling Brent (North Sea) as Iranian crude. Anyone involved in oil knew that Brent was in serious decline and its platforms mostly removed in the last several years.

In 2014 he could have made friends with the new Ukrainian regime. He could have negotiated mutual beneficial treaties. In other words he could have tried to compete with the west for Ukraine’s business instead of invading.

Correct.

Attacking without even inventing a provocation.
At least Hitler killed a few Poles and put uniforms on them as an excuse to invade Poland. Putin didn’t even bother to do that.

So we didn't agree to not push NATO into Ukraine when the Soviet Union collapsed and everyone was shitting bricks about Nuclear proliferation so they gave all the nukes to Russia?
NATO was never pushed on Ukraine. Ukraine was never invited into NATO.

I think he did, and thought he was winning, and then we instigated a coup and replaced the government of Ukraine.

Seems kinda relevant considering we lied and did it anyway.
And for purposes of absolute clarity, this is a *frick NO*
There was discussion within the senior Bush's regime about potentially doing so-- white papers were written within it, backed by James Baker-- but it was *NEVER* the policy of the United States.
Furthermore, we spent a decade working *with* Russia and other Eastern European nations via the Partnership for Peace program which made the onramping process to NATO well known to those states, and that telegraphed US intentions to expand NATO eastward for *30 years*.
Note that the actual agreements concerning the Ukranian nuclear arsenal do not mention Ukranian neutrality; they do mention its *absolute* territorial sovereignty within the borders recognized at the time.

The Ukrainian president defied the will of the overall population and guided Ukraine eastward instead of towards Europe. Riots and protests resulted in troops firing on civilians. The president was forced to run,
Was the CIA involved? I hope so. Did they help? I would guess they did, but the movement to join the west was home grown.
Instead of adjusting to that reality Putin gave his go ahead to implement the plan to take Crimea.

Is that why he tried assassinating the favored, pro Western presidential candidate Yuschenko in 2004 by having him poisoned ?
Theres been precisely one pro-Russian president since Ukrainian escaped the USSR, and he didn’t run as one and now lives in Russia. Hence why his arse was run out of town.

So you're saying nobody has joined NATO since then?

Who's doing surveillance and targeting.

Are you trying to find out what Ukraine is doing to defend itself or are you trying some feeble attempt to stir up something because if you are you are very late to the party?

My point is that this is all US/NATO from beginning to end. They finally got them to react. Now it's pearl clutching for everyone while feeding the meat grinder a generation of young men who they won't get back. And that beast gets hungry at that level. It will come for ours too.
This is WW stuff. It was avoidable. Remember that when they start the draft back up.

Ugh, you aren’t making a point.
Sure you pro Russian people believe the US made Russia attack, but that notion doesn’t hold water. Russia wasn’t forced into anything.
