I see that Ukraine also crossed the border a few days ago from the west side of the Russians trapped below the Seym River.
Ukraine bombed the Tetkino border station, but I haven't seen anything to indicate an actual crossing. Do you have a link?

Ukraine is now firing more and more of their own cruise missiles, to greater and greater effect.
The latest variant is lethal.
Originally developed in 2018 by the Kyiv-based Luch Design Bureau, the R-360 Neptun was initially designed as an anti-ship missile with a range of 280-300 kilometers.
However, the latest version extends this capability to include land targets, further enhancing Ukraine’s ability to conduct long-range precision strikes. The missile travels at speeds of up to 900 km/h and can fly at altitudes ranging from 10 to 300 meters, dropping to just three meters during its final approach to avoid enemy air defenses. The Neptun gained international attention in April 2022 when it was used to sink the Russian guided-missile cruiser Moskva in the Black Sea.
The updated Neptun missile system is part of a broader effort by Ukraine to develop advanced missile capabilities, with future plans reportedly aiming to extend the range of Ukrainian cruise missiles to 1,000 kilometers.

Are they launched from aircraft?

Sadly, BKR's posts seem to have disappeared, as he came back with something like his 5th alter, and I think he got banned again. But they were great -- stuff about how Russia will crush these few Ukrainians right away. I wish people wouldn't report his alters.
The Indian news sites are like that. Pure bloody pro-Russian fantasies.

ground launched...
The RK-360 missile system battery includes six USPU-360 launchers (each equipped with four missiles), six TZM-360 transport and loading vehicles, six TM-360 transport vehicles and one mobile command post of the RKP-360 squadron. Therefore, the squadron should have 24 ready-to-fire anti-ship missiles and 48 spare ones on ammunition wagons. Initially, the whole thing was mounted on the KrAZ 7634NE truck chassis, but eventually it was replaced with the Czech Tatra 815-7 8x8.

I don't doubt the abilities of the Ukrainian tech wizards. A decade I was trying to work with a group headed by a Russian physicist. It was a short plasma instrument downhole to use downhole to stimulate old oil well production with a series of electrical plasma pulses of 100,000 volts to fracture the formations similar to hydraulic fracturing (75+ year old technology) without damaging the well casing. A main component was made in Ukraine.. Chinese not capable of making it. It could have been made in CA or Russia as the only other alternatives.

What pathetic wishy-washiness. Unreal. It's day 18 of the Kursk operation, and the Biden administration is still debating about it. LINK
quote:
Caught unaware by Ukraine’s surprise military incursion into Russia early this month, the Biden administration is still debating whether to help Kyiv’s forces hold and perhaps even expand the sliver of territory they now occupy in Russia’s Kursk region.
The Pentagon has asked the Ukrainians what they need to make their gambit successful, U.S. officials said, but no decisions have been made to materially support the effort.
quote:
The Americans say they are unsure of Kyiv’s overall offensive strategy, and Ukraine’s dependence on U.S. weaponry has revived fears of direct U.S. and NATO escalation with Russia.
quote:
Asked Thursday why the administration has not voiced unalloyed support for the action in Kursk, Pentagon deputy spokesperson Sabrina Singh told reporters that officials are still trying to understand how Kyiv’s surprise offensive “fits into their strategic objectives on the battlefield itself. … We’re still working and still have some questions.”
quote:
U.S. officials said that, while they had detected Ukrainian troop movements around the border city of Sumy, the Ukrainians did not share their plans in advance.
Questions have also been raised inside the administration about the use of American weapons inside Russia, an apparent violation of stated U.S. policy — designed to avoid escalation between Moscow and Washington — that they are only for defense against Russian attacks on Ukrainian territory.

There definitely seems to be more distance between Lukashenko and Putin lately. Luka just congratulated Ukraine on its independence day: LINK
Maybe even Luka can see the writing on the wall now and see that Russia looks like a loser.
EDIT: LOL

Zelensky announced the successful use of a new type of "rocket drone." An ammo depot appears to have been the target.
The Ukrainian ministry of strategic industries says:
“It is a drone — and it is a missile, because according to its tactical and technical characteristics, the product falls under both definitions."

If Biden were smart {and he's not} he'd realize that helping Ukraine batter Russia is his administrations only significant accomplishment. With just 4.5 months left in his term he should give Ukraine everything they want short of nukes and tell them to just go to town on Rusia.

Ukraine develops “Palianytsia” missile-drone
Ukraine’s defense industry has developed the Palianytsia missile-drone, which is already in use.
Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin said that on August 24, the new weapon was successfully used for the first time. This information was also confirmed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“It struck an enemy military facility in the temporarily occupied territory,” said Kamyshin.
According to the minister, Palianytsia is a drone and a missile at the same time, which falls under both definitions in terms of its tactical and technical characteristics.
The defense industry will begin to increase production of the new product for strikes on Russian military targets.
In January of this year, it was reported that a new jet-powered strike drone had made its first flight in Ukraine.

So basically a cheaper cruise missile?
Posted on 8/24/24 at 7:42 am to Hateradedrink
It's a drone with a jet engine.
Earlier in the war, Ukraine had converted its few remaining Soviet Tu-141 recon drones into payload-carrying attack drones, and they had used those to reasonably good effect.
Obviously, Ukraine decided that those results were promising enough to design their own jet-powered attack drone.

I didn’t watch a single second of the DNC convention but apparently you did.
OML should instead join us in watching videos of burning Russian rail ferries in Crimea, exploding ammo dumps in Voronezh, and the eternal flames of the Proletarsk oil depot.
All of those things are much more interesting to watch than politicians blathering on about promises that they already know they won't keep.
